CNN: "The president quit drinking alcohol when he was 40"
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/12/11/bush.physical.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush was pronounced "fit for duty" by his doctors after his annual physical Saturday. The checkup was delayed for four months because of his heavy travel schedule during the campaign.

"I have interviewed and examined President George W. Bush and have reviewed his medical record," a statement signed by 10 doctors said. "Within the scope of my specialty, I find him to be fit for duty and have every reasonable expectation that he will remain fit for duty for the duration of his presidency."

Bush has had several small skin growths treated as a preventive measure, including lesions around his nose that are common in people with sun damage. He has had four small lesions removed from his cheeks and arm with liquid nitrogen.

The president smokes an occasional cigar. He quit drinking alcohol when he was 40. He has caffeine in diet sodas and coffee.

36. I hope so...
"And I wonder if any of those ten doctors was a psychologist or psychiatrist?"

An annual mental exam should be mandatory for the president, no matter what party. Nothing wrong with talking to a psychologist about your troubles.

14. "within the scope of my specialty"
not only do i suspect a narrow definition of "specialty", but i also suspect they identified his problems and dropped the pertinent doctors.

25. In 2001, there was a neurologist
but not a psychologist. Those are never included.

See my post below. Here is the 2001 report, the only one that ever officially been released.

18. why is the fact that he quit drinking alcohol mentioned at all
in this report? Especially since it happened fifteen or more years ago, according to his own reports?

Smells like a dead codfish lying on a dock in the sun for three days.
This report of his physical is just another marketing promotion and all those in this report simply complicit in the promotion. If they found something abnormal, you can bet that they would not say it.

This is all part of the "marketing" of the "war president" who said today that he needs to take off a few pounds from "his frame" because he ate too many doughnuts on the campaign trail. Just the good old boy,Texas faux rancher, who overeats doughnuts like the rest of those overweight rednecks who voted for him because he is a guy they would like to have a beer with.

Now he has something in common with them. He puts on weight due to his overindulgence on doughnuts.

Ugh--

20. I don't believe any of it.
Why? I just don't. If they say something and make a big deal about it, chances are it's a lie.

I don't believe he didn't have four hours for a physical in August when he had plenty of time to cut brush.

I don't believe he's quit drinking, either.

And you know what?

I don't HAVE to believe it. So there.

24. OMG it is the EXACT same physical as was
reported in 2001, the ONLY year there is an official summation.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/08/20010804-2.html

Read it. There is NO summation of any physical in 2002 or 2003. And the snippets we are getting through news articles this year are the exact same as the 2001 official summation. Word for word.

"Just recycle that one from 2001, yeah that'll do."

27. I mean seriously.
Did you read that 2001 one? It's like the AP just went to that summation from three years ago, took some quote and tidbits and wrote the story. It's chilling how alike they are.

And when you find the little news tidbits on his 2002 and 2003 "physicals" THOSE stories read EXACTLY the same as this one and as the 2001 summation. They mention the knee surgeries, the exercise, the skin cancer problems, the not drinking alcohol and only drinking coffee and diet cokes.

Now someone COULD say that just means nothing new has been found and he has the same habit and health level of three years ago.

BUT that doesn't explain the fact that every news story on his "physicals" read exactly like the first summation in 2001.

That's just fucking WEIRD.
