Possible meaning of bush cabinet resignations
What if some of them are "resigning" so they can run a secret "shadow government" behind the scenes?

Original idea. Hadn't heard that one yet. However, I think they smell
something very rotten and want to distance themselves. This is just way to many rats leaving the ship. The selection of Kerick is indicative also. They knew he was a sleazoid but thought they could sell him. The more interesting and subtle point is, I think, that Kerick was about all they could come up with. They were ready to put up a tainted loser because he's about the only one out there even remotely qualified who would take the job.

1. and why would they have to resign to do that?
and who will lead it, Colin Powell? I'd like to make a plea for reason on these blogs. Did it ever occur to you that the resignations may simply indicate people don't like working for this administration?

5. I think it's more than a general shakeup
It's more "yes" people to do the bidding of the real policy behind the scenes policy makers.

6. Dual Purpose
I would say most Presidents get people to fill their cabinet that are right for the job and also yes men/woman. I would hope they pick the first before the second.

9. I sort of trust Powell
I have the feeling that eventually Powell will write a "Mommy Dearest" book about Bush and blow his racket wide open.

I'm sure that most of the people leaving his cabinet are doing it out of frustration and disgust.

But people like Ashcroft... I especially don't trust him where I can't see him. When he's no longer in plain sight, I'm afraid of what he might be up to.
