US Military rewards soldier's creative 'scrounging' with court martial
Please see this Chicago Tribune article: `Scrounging' for Iraq war puts GIs in jail

This is unbelievable. Our soldiers are without the necessary equipment to do their job and when, in a crisis, they find creative ways to accomplish their job -- the reward is a court martial.

What is going on here?

Best,

2. You're not aurthorized to steal and misappropriate

unless you're employed by Halliburton.

Then you have a blank-check.

3. For sure UNbelievable & sad.

these guys don't have the right equipment & supplies to do their jobs & ensure safety for themselves AND then get into to trouble for "scrounging" which btw is a military 'tradition',,,,, sheesh,,,,

4. Maybe our administration doesn't want the US military
to "win" this "war" they were sent to.

Yours is not to reason why,
Yours is to go and die.

This "war" is just an excuse to send the US Treasury to Haliburton and bankrupt the United States.

6. Yep, they spent all the money on

BIG OL' PLANES AND BIG OL' BOMBS AND SPACESHIPS, CHRIS, SPACESHIPS!!!!

No money left over for body armor or other equipment necessary for a guerilla war.

Oh well, "As you know, you go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time...". I mean after all, it will be you, not me, getting your ass shot off. And let's face it, in the final analysis, that's what counts.

7. Who is more dangerous to our troops? Insurgents or 'us'?
Put rummy in one of these units & see if he doesn't learn to creatively learn to 'scrounge'!

8. One of the things that has made our military the force it is, is the
ability of the average servicemeber to go beyond the bounds of traditional thinking, and take initiative.

Now the reward for such innovation, is a CM...how sad.

One more thing to despise this aministration for...:(

9. Arrogant Loloism gone WILD. This will have a devastating effect
on our efforts in future conflicts as well as this one. Now men, faced with sim shortages will have no recourse but say," Wheres the Parts?"

If the President lets this stand, he is more of a joke than the looney tines judge who gave the penalty.

Incredible that they were fired for "Improvise and Overcome" and More shocking...they had to be "jailed?" WTF is wrong with these assholes who fuck future wars for us.

For the LACK of IMPROVISING the WAR WAS LOST....... Pathetically sad

10. One of the arguments I used to make
regarding abortion, *surprise* is that we accept death for expediency's sake in war. We accept that the soldier will kill. We accept the fact that innocent civilians - women, children, the elderly and handicapped - will die. We accept that some soldiers will die. We understand that we are causing death. Even though we value life.

And we wouldn't dream of sending troops into harm's way without everything they need to avoid death. ( As we "send" women - and some would like to force women- into pregnancy without everything they need to avoid death .) I used to believe this was a way to reach Repukes, because I used to believe that they actualy cared about our men and women in uniform. I used to believe they would fight for the soldier.

I was barking up the wrong tree. While I would give everything I earned last year if only one more soldier could live, Repukes don't care how many soldiers die, as long as they get their extra $600 tax credit this year.

Pro-life, my ass.

Their greed means every Republican hand is stained with the blood of our troops.
