3. Why Should I Feel Bad?
He's just another on the long list of Rethugs with skeletons in the closet. They are supposed to have more "morality" than the rest of us, remember? Heh.

4. I think it's friggen hilarious.
But I think it's pathetic and frightening & disheartening that the public won't see it for what it is.

I agree. It's being painted as poor Kerik being attacked over a trifle.
Why should anyone feel bad about Kerik being taken down? I can tell you I also am enjoying the embarrassment of Kerik's loathsome patron, Rudy:

They have both earned disgrace a thousand times over but still have places in the power structure.

5. Kerik representats just another Bush mistake
Bush hates to admit to any mistakes and Kerik is just another bush mistake that is fun to poke at.

6. It's wrong
Kerik was going to be an insignificant person in an insignificant post, and will be replaced with someone who is not better. His posting was just payback for Rudy's support -- now the payback will go to some other supporter.

If you think it signals a shift in the Washington scandalometer, then maybe it's worth getting a little excited about, and that might happen but I've fallen for that before and I'm not holding my breath.

8. Homeland Security is insignificant because Bush appoints nobodies
You are mistaking cause and effect. Appointing Kerik would shrink the office to his lack of qualification. Him being determined unsuitable for only some of the right reasons gives the post a chance to be as important as it should be.

9. No, I think it's an insignificant job, period.
I don't think it should exist at all but since it does, I don't think it matters who gets put in it.

Just because Bush did it doesn't mean everyone gets to do it.

17. Yes, and very very wrong to smear him with peanut butter and...
...put him in a cage with scary-looking rats the size of terriers and a marked attraction to slimy political thugs,
or epoxy an itchy Harpo Marx wig to the top of his pate,
or make him listen to 1000 consecutive repetitions of that irritating Disney song, "It's a Small World After All,"
or ...

...(clears throat)...

yes, all very, very, very wrong to fantasize about.

He would sure look funny in a Harpo wig, though...

28. Nope, no chemical imagination stimulants required.
Kerik is just so stupidly ridiculous to me, as he struts around in his oh-so-carefully choreographed Mean & Manly Shamble. Even Bush is said to have liked him because his "tough cop" image looked cool, which is no surprise given Our Leader's deep experience with men of true courage (yes, I am being sarcastic). But Kerik is such a ludicrous fake. It's not that corruption, thuggishness, and hypocrisy are funny, it's that Kerik's such a fraud in his macho pretensions. Such a cartoonish character would have been just right as the leader of the Dept of Crayolas and Craven Scare Tactics.

in that these recent nominations are too convenient. there are literally thousands of public servants in all levels of state and federal government that are more qualified than Kerik, et al, but whom does * nominate for appointment? precisely.

33. You got it 'er Right!
From the very beginning I had a "hinky" feeling about him and CONNECTIONS! I can't believe they actually used the word MOB on TV today! I can't say I thought it was THE MOB, but I thought he had his fingers a cookie jar of organizations like that!

Geez, I still think it would have been fun to see how THEY would have SPUN it!

Actually, THEY probably knew a lot more than we think, but being the pompous asses they are they figured everyone would look the other way! I mean they've gotten away with almost EVERYTHING else! What made the Media move on this one?? That's a question I would like the answer to.

It's down right DIVINE justice that the pResident
is proven to be WRONG in his so called "guidance."
This error in decision making easily extends itself to
Iraqnam.
Maybe Bush had better re evaluate those voices in
his head?

So what scandal really took him down?
How big a screwup does it take
to be too smelly for BushCo?

36. His two mistresses took him down (no pun intended)
He was having affairs with a married police officer (female) and also with Judith Reagan (of Reagan Publishing), a writer who does the bios of most top rightwingers. she did his too. She is an inveterate basher of Hillary for Bills sexcapades and of Monica and says that she herself has an interesting sex life.

The two women found about each other.

Kerik kept wife in million dollar home on Staten Island, kept a love pad down at Ground Zero (called Battery Park area) and also another apartment on E. 79th Street (posh neighborhood).

All this was smashing front page news in today's NY Daily news. Murdoch, owner of FAUX News and NY Post isn't saying anything about it in his paper. Wonder why?

Kerik was interviewed on local tv and he said everything was picking up speed and running downhill like a snowball.

What if he hadn't withdrawn his name? He would have been passed through no matter what they found(check out his supporters for the job) and we would be stuck with ghouliani's hit man and the repercussions that followed.
