USELESS Democratic "Leaders" -- Where Are They? Damed by their silence! |
|
I am stunned! We have countless examples of vote fraud and suppression across the country. We have numerous concrete examples of that activity in Ohio and efforts to correct the situation.
WHERE ARE OUR LEADERS? WHO IS SPEAKING UP? WHO IS NOT?
I know Rep. Conyers and the Black Caucus are working very hard and deserve great credit and that Teddy Kennedy spoke out. Where are the rest of them.
We need an accounting, a list, of prominent Democrats who are either dismissing or ignoring this issue.
Is there a bigger issue right now than our right to vote.
WE HAVE BEEN BETRAYED BY ANY DEMOCRATIC LEADER WHO IS NOT SPEAKING OUT. WHO ARE THE SILENT ONES

1. Democrat, Republican... Shades of gray... |
|
They take turns. Sure, Dems are better for most of us, but there are plenty of people who think Repubs are better for them.
They take turns, hold elections to make us think we matter and pat us on our dopey heads...
Shades of gray my friend, shades of gray...

4. I'm so sorry. She'll be right back. Seriously... |
|
if these clowns can't speak up on this issue, what does it take. I watched the charade in Ohio today and it just made me ill. There's John Conyers and the committee, a bunch of activists and nobody else.
I remember the Voting Rights Act and all it took to get that passed. There wasn't a person in the country, other than avowed racists, who opposed that. Now 40 years later, national leadership sits on its collective ass and does nothing about this.
The real point is that our so called leaders are virtually useless. We need a few folks with guts and vision or maybe just good common sense and a memory.

8. This to me is a good reason to support Dean for DNC. If any group |
|
needs to be shaken up with reality, even if some mistakes are made, it is this group.

15. Agree totally. He would just tell the TRUTH. Frightening concept |
|
to those who support/benefit from the status quo. I sent my state chairman and others in the state party letters supporting him. We'll see.

Democrats are under a heavy transistion, we need to ditch the people who side with the repubs, we must keep our principals...

6. It seems that in their zeal to emphasize that the uproar is not an |
|
attempt to overturn this election, they will remain silent.
We now wait until after the inauguration in one week.
I suspect that the floodgates will open on all this in the major media on January 21.
We won't depose this king, I'm afraid.

7. I hope your right about post inaugural outrage. |
|
I wouldn't expect the election to be overturned and I never have. I just don't see how they can remain silent when a real-time response is called for. If the floodgates open on 1/21, great.
It just hit me today, how utterly useless these folks are. The Democratic state chairs had a meeting in FL over the weekend...like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

10. My local CA Dems (state senate) say they have no intention of |
|
introducing legislation in 2005 to outlaw evoting, internet voting, voting with no paper trail, voting that cannot be verified, or require voting machines that can be investigated, making the voting machine code accessible to the state or to private citizens...........
NOTHING
to solve voting issues.

12. That is what must change. |
|
We MUST make Election Protection the out-front issue; get behind it and FIGHT for it and DEMONSTRATE for it and STRIKE for it. We cannot allow elections to become fraudulent rituals.

14. Holy Shit. The majority of party leadership is SLEEP WALKING. |
|
This just blows me away. Even when we have power, the "main stream Democrats" won't exercise it. At least the CA Secretary of State went after Diebold.

13. I should have been more explicit. |
|
I said, "I know Rep. Conyers and the Black Caucus..." His committee is more than the Black Caucus. You are right. I should have said, "his committee & local activists" but that's about it. I'm talking about...OK, where's Pelosi? where's Dean? where's Kerry? where's Reid? where's Obama? where's either Clinton? where were the state Democratic chairmen? (FL actually at their meeting) where's Dodd? and, what the heck, where's Mr. Piety Lieberman?
How could this general issue have such an impact and there be such an important day, in reality and symbolically, without a massive show of support from the top Democratic leadership? The people in Ohio fighting for every citizen in this country were left largely unsupported. That is an outrage.
See Post #10 if you want to know just how far down the food chain this blithe indifference goes.
