Will Alberto Gonzoles have trouble during confirmation?
I heard on MSNBC yesterday that with the Kerik nomination derailed, Democrats might have more courage to challenge other Bush nominees, like Gonzoles. I can't remember the exact quote, but that was close. Does anyone feel that the Senate and Democratic leaders will expose any of Gonzoles' shortcomings?

1. I don't have any faith in it actually happening
But I really, really wish it would. That man.... does not deserve a governmental position, he deserves jail time.

6. What do you mean?
My issue has nothing to do with race, at all, and everything to do with the shady things he has done, and the memos he issued to avoid the restrictions of the Geneva Convention and ok torture. Where at all do you see this having anything to do with race?

3. I've written to Senators Graham & Nelson...
telling them to oppose this guy! I think Graham will, but Nelson??? I think he's too worried about his NEXT election! What a SHAME! And this is the problem I have with some DEMOCRATS!
No BALLS!
I would write to Katherine Harris too, JUST TO MAKE HER MAD... BUT!

7. Where have you been
Grahm retired and has been replaced with Mel Martinez. I believe Martinez will support Alberto, although you may want to crank out another letter for the sport of it.

9. Well!
Someone in Graham's office wrote me a letter back, so until the "newbies" officially take office, I assume he's still the Senator!

And... on every automatic letter response that I've signed up with, when I put my zip code in, Graham's name fills up the space as SENATOR!

I AM aware of Martinez, I do live in Florida and campaigned for Castor! So do tell, just HOW am I supposed to write MARTINEZ????

16. I Need Help With This!
I can't speaka da language! And I'm limited in my Spanish too! I was a geek who took LATIN in school????

I was under the impression that confirmation was going on NOW! I thought I missed something and Bush had passed a new law because each new nominee is spoken of as a "done deal!" Bush has done so many corrupt things without anyone really stopping him, I figured he was just expanding his Theocracy!

I don't expect Nelson to be much help here... I recall his statement shortly after Martinez won. He said that he had known him for 20 years and thought he would do a great job! So much for supporting his folks. I KNOW the reasoning is that he wants to get re-elected, but it's a real turn-off for me!

So, I guess it's useless for me to reach out to my people in Congress! Back to my theme... We The People! I will fight on.

15. He's still a Senator til Jan 3
but will have no say in the Gonzales confirmation. His staff responsed to you because they're likely responding to all mail received until their office shuts down. But your letter to him won't do any good. You should write to Martinez, who will actually have a vote on the matter.

14. Nelson was interviewed yesterday on a Tampa radio station
WMNF and asked about the Gonzales confirmation. Nelson stated he was sure they would throw him some "tough" questions but he (Nelson) was sure Gonzo the Torturer would "sail through".

5. There is a lot of ammo here
At the very minimum we need to question Gonzales about the Geneva Convention and the torture in Cuba. Even if Gonzales is confirmed, there is a great opportunity to expose and highlight the bush policies on torture and the Geneva convention.

13. No. The Democrats will......
Roll over, play dead, and not act like an opposition party. It will be a pathetic site.

They will tow the line of "The President (sic) has a right to have the cabinet he wants."

They seem to not understand that they are not there to be a rubber stamp for Bushie.

17. Again...
It's We The People! We have to MAKE them listen. I've got my car plastered with bumper stickers and you don't have to use your imagination about where I'm coming from.

Repukes won't even get too close when traveling behind me! It's good for a laugh anyway!

18. A lot of "concern" will be expressed,
and then he will be confirmed much, much too easily.
