I'll bite: What do you SPECIFICALLY want the new DNC chair to do? |
|
My first thought:
Get a tough as nails Public Relations Agency on retainer, or better yet, on staff 24/7 and book our BEST on the tube like the opposition does.
And NEVER book them on FAUX. Let them have their nasty little playpen, I don't really care.

Period, end of topic.
We must win playing OUR game, not theirs.

sucking up to it. Second, talk to the people they purport to represent and listen to what they have to say instead of just taking their money and votes and waltzing off into the sunset after an election. Third, get rid of operatives--they sacrifice message on the altar of profit. Fourth, grow some cajones.

I don't hear much said about how the wing nut radio shows hammer the right wing message day in and out for 24/7.
If we ever have parity with their talk shows maybe we could win some time. I live near Bakersfield, CA and I can't tune the radio to an AM station without hearing the right wing message and our newspaper, that endorsed Bush, has Bush on the front page at least 3 times a week. It is no wonder why Kern county votes repub. The people never hear a different message.

6. Expose all those Right Wing "Stink Tank" experts for the |
|
propaganda they spew on the news shows. For instance, we all know those proponents for Social Security change a al BushCO, are probably being paid by the banking industry (after all there ARE fees involved setting up private accounts).
I'm tired of being the Good Cop to the repugs Bad Cop.
I like the PR idea!

7. And expose the stink tanks (nice term since they spin racism and sexism) |

for their TAX-EXEMPT, yet blatantly political, status.

9. Run a candidate for every office nationwide |
|
leave no seats uncontended. Organize the 'roots and get the infrastructure in place to get the message out - both media as well as whisper campaign. Take donations from people ONLY and no PACS, no corporate money unless the corporation is blue. Get the dems off the corporate trough.

It's as if they aren't proud of being liberal

The party elite never listen to us--we tried to warn them---but NO!
They left us out to dry---they owe us!

I want my Democrats to be as pro-active and aggressive and mouthy and confident as The Others have been. I want them to hammer every ugly rumor that comes out as soon as it appears, and then I want them to make sure it's gone away for good.
I want them to be as tough as I am, and I want them to play our game - that of inclusion, not exclusion - and not falter on all the things we stand for - equality, acceptance, understanding, fairness, and NO FUCKING ORGANIZED RELIGION.
I want them to shut the hell up about "What have we done wrong?" and "We've got to move to the center." That's dishonest and whorish.
I want them to call assholes "assholes," and move on. Not every POV deserves to be heard, analyzed, considered, or even listened to. I'm sick of Politically Correct.
I want them to say, "We're the Democratic Party, and this is what we stand for," and I want it to be all the great liberal philosophies that served us so well through the decades.
And I want them to hit the other side so hard when it transgresses that their dead great-great-great-grandparents feel the pain.
