Just when you thought bush couldn't get any dumber...
George W. Bush, International Economist of Mystery

"There's a trade deficit. That's easy to resolve: People can buy more United States products if they're worried about the trade deficit."

7. Every time I read something he says
or see a picture of him like the one from today where he is in a man sandwich and one guy is apparently looking in his pants, or like when he went to Canada and made that joke about greeting him with more than one finger then did that weird panting laugh he does where no one else is laughing and the laugh goes on a bit too long, I just hang my head. Then I shake my head. Then I cover my face with my hands.

And I tell myself that maybe some bright day, when America is better and recovered from this horrible infection called A Lack of Thought, Intelligence and Compassion, I can tell my grandchildren or great-grandchildren about the bad dark days of having a total fucking idiot in the White House and they will gasp and say "Nooooo, granny, you MUST be exaggerating" and I'll say "oh but kiddos, how I wish I were, how I wish I were...."

16. I'm compiling a "Bush Box" for my grandkids & great-nephews...
all under the age of 11. They'll be able find out what REALLY happened when their high school history books re-write history. I have tons of articles from newspapers, blogs, and news web sites. Eventually I will buy a copy of "The Pet Goat" and add that as well. I'll be brushing off my decoupage skills because the outside of these boxes will be plastered with his stupid pictures and selections from my "Presidential Mis-Speak" calendar that illustrate his disgraceful use of the English language.

the "wanna buy some wood? heh heh heh" comment and "laugh" of his during the debate.

Another dimly lit lonely moment of humor for him.

23. What is UP with that dorky laugh?
He sits there and pants really fast and looks around like he's looking for approval, like he's waiting for others to laugh, too.

I knew guys like that in school and they got teased mercilessly for that.

10. Actually, this is the whole point of the declining dollar
To make U.S. goods so cheap that everyone (including us) will buy U.S. goods rather than imported goods. That is why I have a crappy Ford Ranger rather than the Toyota Tacoma SR5 that I wanted.

Bush's interpretation of this strategy is, of course really dumb.

13. That comment is stupid on too many levels.
I couldn't believe it when I heard it today. It's a totally simplistic, and erroneous, 'suggestion' that shows no understanding whatsoever of economics.

Let's look at some of the stupidity involved in this one little statement. First, what products do we even make in the US these days? Not many. And it's tough to identify them with all the ridiculous pro-corporate rules that allow them to say something is made in the USA when not much of the item is. And since there has been negative job growth during his administration, many of us have no jobs, and thus no money to buy any products at all. And I really doubt that the purchasing habits of the American people make a whole lot of difference in the trade deficit.

So there he goes again, absolving himself of any responsibility for the problems he has caused (or helped cause). Even worse, he's trying to blame us, the American people (ie those who are hurt by his policies) for the trade deficit! Un-fucking-believable! I am pissed off and highly insulted by his remark.

30. I agree with Marc Maron
from Morning Sedition about those cute "Bushisms".

They seem to endear him more to his base and make the rest of us laugh.

If you want a real Bushism, how about almost 1300 americans killed in Iraq.

Here's another one for ya - How's about 100,000 or so dead Iraqis. Isn't that cute?

Oh - and did ya hear the one about another factory closing down taking 1500 jobs overseas to China. That's a knee slapper.

Sorry, * just isn't that funny anymore.
