I keep reading posts on this board that call for a respectful dialogue with the rightwing conservatives who have taken over our government. I have heard from good friends and from members of my progressive group that we must "not become that which we abhor". Well, just what the hell am I supposed to say to these people??
People like Jerry Falwell who tell us "they have thrown down the gauntlet"?

Do I say to them that I respect their opinion, and please sir, may I have another??
I am NOT a radical, wild-eyed screaming meemie, but when is enough, enough?
Dialoging with people who DO NOT WANT TO LISTEN is like beating your head against the same brick wall over and over again, hoping for a crack.
Tell me, what did Jesus really mean by turning the other cheek? I truly don't believe he meant for us to be a doormat. And he sure as hell seemed a tad bit angry when he knocked over the moneychangers table in the temple.
Rant over, thanks for listening.
