A point of order regarding D U rules and Zell Miller?
Does Zell Miller still count as a Democrat? If so, should we except him from the rules?

3. He's no Democrat.
And if he hates us so much, why does he keep calling himself one?

Nothing more deplorable in the whole world than a traitor....

I think "This is a message board for Democrats and other progressives" is problematic. I don't like the idea of limiting people according to labels, but by the content of their discussion. I prefer, "This message board is for the discussion and fostering of liberal, progressive, and democratic viewpoints and analysis"

I actually have a friend who will remain nameless who posts who is relatively conservative and a registered republican. Of course, she voted for Kerry. She comes here for an alternative point of view, and often brings up opposing moderately-conservative (in no way neo-con or rightwing or freeper) viewpoints.

We could probably say that she is more or less liberal, but not really...just VERY intelligent and logical, coming from a fiscally and socially conservative viewpoint.

She posts here because she is interested in being part of the dialogue, but is adamantly NOT a democrat or liberal. She just ignores that rule and abides by all the others.

Technically I am neither a democrat nor a progressive. I am a leftwing, feminist, jedi goddess reverend. People seem to like me well enough ;)

I just wanted to vent about that.

I would welcome Zell Miller for Zell Miller flame away day. Then we could get rid of the assface fuckface.
