after the sham Iraqi elections don't change a thing.

6. Dumping rummy would mean something was wrong with choosing
and keeping him in the first place. Admitting a mistake is not something this admin does.

9. I was just about to post this.
Why all of a sudden are we hearing all of these repiglicans calling for Rumsfeld head? He should have resigned a long time ago.

These repiglicans aren't fooling anyone!

5. This must be the reason Lott
is talking against Rumsfield:

"I would like to see a change in that slot in the next year or so," Lott said. "I'm not calling for his resignation, but I think we do need a change at some point."

On another military issue, Lott said he hopes the Base Realignment and Closure Commission will consider closing bases overseas rather than in the United States.

"I think we're looking at closures at home before looking at other parts of the world," he said."

If he doesn't keep the Mississippi bases open, he might vet voted OUT.

8. Won't we just love to watch...
... the RW freepers suck on to this, and suddenly develop strong Rumschwelt allergies? ;-)

They are just SO predictable.

11. I guess since Lott was the fall guy once,
he wants to repay it.

Man these guys are so quick to betray their own.

12. Distancing
Many Rethugs want to distance themselves from failed Rumsfailed. If their constituency ever gets to the point of demanding U.S. withdrawl of Iraq they want to be able to say yes we know things are real screwed up but it's not our fault. It is that damned Rumsfailed's fault.
