Maybe it's thge Vodka, but... (DF fuckin A!)
I just set up a monthly donation to DFA.

It's only ten bux/mo, that's all I can do, but it's the largest financial commitment I have ever made to a political cause.

Last night, I posted how we should forget the DNC, and refer to DFA as our allied political organization. We would substitute DFA for DNC.

Hell, after a day of CAD work, my hands hurt to type. I'll cut & paste:

"Perhaps, we should stop talking (typing) about the DNC. Perhaps, we should use DFA. How can we help the DFA to win? What will be the official DFA position on this issue? How can we help the DFA win in 2006? Urge Sen. Headupasso to join the DFA and vote x on x bill.

Sure, it will be kinda silly at first, until lefty-leaning candidates and the DFA catches on. But I think we can help to expand the DFA and the congressional reps that they endorse. With numbers and repetition, we can make the DFA look like a place that a candidate needs to be. With our voices, we can make having DFA approval or an association with the DFA to be an important endorsement, a seal of Liberal approval. We can, by force of will, elevate the importance and the profile of the DFA and therefore capitalize on what once was a slur that almost half the voters (or more.....oy) in nthis country voted for "the #1 Liberal in the Senate". We will make our OWN DNC!

Chair of the DNC? Fuck. We can make it irrelevent."

Goddammit, I am serious about this. I WILL inform the DNC of my decision. I will NOT donate any funds to the DNC at all. The DFA has my allegiance now.

I will support DFA endorsed candidates. I will urge others to adopt DFA-endorsed policies. I will NOT allow the moderates to waste my vote or my money again.

I will put the DFA logo on the extended oil pan of my hot rod. Just as soon as I get the new trans worked out. It's a long story. Oh, don't you worry, I know what needs to be done, I'm on it. What?

"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered, yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly."
-Thomas Paine

This is just the beginning. I really have no confidance in speakin to folks door to door and such, but the fight that lies ahead really don't give a shit what I feel, do it?

"If you make yourself a sheep, the wolves will eat you."
-Benjamin Franklin

As important a tool as it is, the battle will not be won on the Internet.

1. I'll support that! The DNC doesn't represent us any more.
I'm still a Democrat, but I'm a DFA Dem, not a DNC Dem.

2. I understand exactly how you feel and I agree with you 100%.
I got another e-mail from the DNC yesterday or today, I really don't remember, but it went straight into the trash can.

I'm a lifelong Dem and until they straighten their act out and begin to talk about being real Democrats again, ie dump the DLC and everyone associated with it, they won't get another red cent from me.

As far as I'm concerned DFA and PDA are the only way to go. At least, those organizations are willing to put up a fight to get our country back!!!

5. Exxcellent!
Vote with a few bux. The basis of the Democratic Party is working folks. The DNC and the DLC want to take credit for what individuals did, all the while whoring for the corporations and making nice with the radical right.

Be sure to email them your appreciation. The more Al From whines, it is evedent of the more power we attain! (sorry, I'm not a writer) The chair of the DNC is irrelevent, if we wish it to be.

8. Yes!
It will be in late January. It was a Kerry meetup group before, and it is now continuing as a Democratic/progressive meetup group.

Last time the DNC called me to ask for a donation, I told them I give any political money I have to DFA.

The woman from the DNC was actually very understanding about it.
