3. no problem....
seems like he is the only major guest on the slate. Hope that means he will get a reasonable amount of time.

Usually "they" keep his interviews short.....guess the presstitutes wouldn't want some to actually listen to him and get ideas that the Chimp-Chump admin stinks stronger than 10 year old French Camembert!

8. I appreciate Sharpton....
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 03:43 PM by FrenchieCat
and I like him a lot (I know him personally)....

But I am not Kidding about Clark. He is actually a very powerful and truthful speaker without alienating 1/2 of an audience. His serious words will be aimed at all Americans......and they will listen (not click off their TeeVee) and understand exactly what he is saying......

Plus Wes Clark just got back from the Middle-East a couple of days ago. Hope that the conference he attended will be discussed. Bill Clinton was at this conference as well. The mainstream corporate media didn't cover this....cause the world is discussing serious issues without the presence of the Chimp-Chump Bush Admin and the MSM. Guess they think they'll get more done that way.

The rich but frustrating debate on Arab reform
By Rami G. Khouri

Analysis

DUBAI: The three-day Arab Strategy Forum that brought to Dubai dozens of the finest minds in the Arab world, the USA, Europe and Asia this week to help chart the Arab region's route to modernity and prosperity was extraordinary in every respect. It was extraordinarily rich in analyzing the difficult condition of the Arab world, and in identifying the required policy changes to move toward a better future. And it was also extraordinarily rich in frustration .....

During the three days of high quality panel discussions and plenary speeches, mostly by well respected Arab and American leaders in politics, business and academia, the unstoppable force of economic and political reform met the irresistible barrier of entrenched Arab vested interests. Consequently, most of the three days were spent offering and discussing a veritable jamboree of lists - good, relevant lists that warrant the attention of anyone who cares deeply about, or is just fascinated by, the angst and aspirations of Arab societies.

The host, U.A.E. Defense Minister and Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, kicked off the event with the shortest but most striking list of the forum, the two options before Arab leaders: either the leaders change their policies and deal with their people more justly, or the leaders will be changed. Former U.S. President Bill Clinton then followed with his six-point list of what countries need to do to succeed - and the floodgates of list-making were opened.

*The Forum heard several lists of the many security threats plaguing the Arab world, from knowledgeable people such as former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley Clark, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani, Syrian Expatriates Minister Buthaina Shaaban, and International Atomic Energy Agency director Mohammed al-Baradei.The threats included terrorism, corruption, stagnation, Israel, the U.S., Iran, global irrelevance, and a few others.

article is long....and U.S. and Israel are listed as "threats".....mmmmm

I just Love your Avatar!

Now Ali is a man who stood up when everyone else was sitting. Wish more Democrats could take some lessons from him on how not to be so "scary" and "weak".

That's what I like about Wes Clark. He stood up many times. The presstitutes just hate a person with sound principles and balls.

PS: Muhammad Ali is my 2nd cousin via his last marriage. He's married to my Sister-in-law's 1st cousin.(no....no blood relation unfortunately for me)

22. As usual....
They only had him on for one segment. He looked good and discussed the problem with the Neo-Cons. Loves it when he calls them what they are. Said Neo-Con at least 3 or 4 times. Hahahaha...

Clark said that Bill Christol was only criticizing Rumsfeld to take the heat off the fact that the whole PNAC middle east empire mission was flawed from the Get-Go!

I wanted to hear Sharpton, but they didn't let him talk often enough.

I cracked up whenever CM was asking Andrea "Scareface" Mitchell a question....he would say, "you're the expert". WTF??? the expert of what, may I ask? How to drone on and on and end up saying nothing?

Sheech....I hate the whoring media with a vengeance. I would like to see them drowned in a bathtub....today!

31. General Clark is appearing pretty regularly
whenever the cable talking heads need somebody to explain what's going on with the international scene.

Leave it to Wes to explain it clearly. He always cuts to the chase and sees under the surface.

Matthews said that General Clark was the only one who seemed to see that the NeoCons worldview would never have let them actually make the preparations that he (Clark) and others have said was needed for success.

Way to go, Wes!

32. Is a renowned expert on military matters and foreign policy.....
they need to have him on all of the time!

Just saw the rerun...loved his ingenious way of using "respect" as many times as he did....

and, of course, loved the "neo-con" term that he repeated over and over again.

33. Yes, he is treating them to their own medicine
"Neo-con" started out as a value neutral descriptive term for a specific political philosophy, sort of like "Liberal" was before the Republicans demonized it. "Conservative" is currently assigned a positive value by the majority of Americans, but few Americans identify themselves as "neo-cons". Clark associated a pile of negatives with "neo-con", by constantly repeating that term while accurately describing blind sighted stupidity. The nice thing about plastering "neo-con" all over the current junta is the term is so ripe for us to exploit. "Neo-con" sounds exactly like some kind of revisionist fake substitute for real Conservatives. And that of course is what this Bush Administration actually is. The great thing is that self described "neo-cons" originally bought into the label themselves, so now they will be stuck with the negative connotations Clark is skillfully linking with it.

Clark continues to show sophistication in the political use of charged terms and images that most Democrats have long been lacking. He was the only Democrat in the Primaries who consistently put "Values" front and center in his campaign, of course using them as a hammer against the hypocrisy of many Republicans. Had Clark been our nominee, he would have gone right at the Republicans perceived advantage in that arena.

"real democrats" a clue. Unfortunately, it will not. Though I think I have heard Biden use it frequently. We need to start demonizing the neo-cons relentlessly so that we can strip away the moderate republican support. BEFORE the next election cycle.

When I think back on this last four years, my conclusion sadly is the Democrats had no plan whatsoever. We need a plan. The repukes had a plan. I want one too.

How smart were we Clarkies to back him! We need that we needed a real leader and that Clark had the smarts and heart to step up to the plate. God bless Wes.

I don't know much about Mark Warner. But what little I've seen gives me similar vibes as Clark. Meaning that Warner may also be tuned into what issues will appeal to real people, outside of the beltway. Clark and Warner could be our way back from the wilderness.
