Anyone here still watch Fox News?
If so, have you watched the DVD "Outfoxed?" If you haven't, look for it at Blockbuster or some other video store.

HIGHLY eye-opening. I have no idea why anyone not on the far right would watch such a blatant propagandic political attack machine, ever. It's nothing but pure propaganda.

(And to those of you who remember the thread the other day, I finally finished watching "Outfoxed." Going to chew some Tums now.)

9. For some reason a flaming porcupine strikes me as very cute
I guess he'd be able to cook his food, too.

Urgh, and now I'm reminded of pokémon. :puke:

5. Fantastic!
I rented it from my local Blockbuster and was really surprised to see it there. I watched it pretty quickly so I could get it back to them for others!!!

6. Since the November elections, I've hardly watched any network news.
They're so wrapped up in Lacy Peterson, Michael Jackson and spinning our rosy economy and war for Bush, they have zero credibility with me. I've resorted to websites and newspapers for my news and information and I feel I'm better for it.

12. They were fun to watch early on
on election night when everyone thought Kerry was sweeping the nation. All the old white men commentators looked like they were gonna cry. That was the only time I enjoyed watching Fox news

8. I've switched to Fox just long enough to see what Dems appear there
I wish the democrats would quit appearing on Fox. Let Fox be seen for what it is, far right-wing propaganda.

I bought OutFoxed and have loaned it out several times (it's still out). The reaction is always the same, anger by the liberals, and silence by the conservatives.

16. Yep
Dems and all liberals need to start REFUSING to appear on Fox. They do NOT get equal time, they are NOT allowed to make their points.

It's ridiculous. If I were some kind of left wing commentator, I'd tell Faux to take a flying leap if they called me. It should be an INSULT for Faux to ask any Dem to be on their network, because they only want the weakest.

22. Also they need to get in the habit of not appearing of FOX...
such that when we take back Congress and the White House, FOX will be starved of primary sources for their newscasts.

17. We cancelled our satellite service altogether.
We now only have bunny ears and local channels. And we never watch the regular Fox station, on principle.

23. Out of curiousity I caught a bit of it...
Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 09:03 PM by Telly Savalas
about a year ago. In comparison to Toronto local news, I found their reliance on flashy graphics to be downright surreal.

Also I caught this bit of newsreport:

ANCHOR: Today Donald Rumsfeld said that America is committed to victory in Iraq and that the insurgents won't discourage us from achieving democracy in Iraq.

(cut to Donald Rumsfeld standing at a podium)

RUMSFELD: America is committed to victory in Iraq. The insurgents won't discourage us from achieving democracy in Iraq.

WTF?

During some report on "homeland security" they aired a bunch of random footage of troops looking tough and flags and crap like that while the anchor read the story. The similarities between this network and the movie "Starship Troopers" are alarming.

Nevertheless, I could totally see how someone armed with a graphix bong could find FOX News to be hysterical in small doses.

20. Blockbuster?
You lost me. No, I don't. We don't even have satellite anymore (never had cable). We only get local stations and we don't even watch the regular programming Fox channel.

What did blockbuster have to do with it? Does Murdoch own them, too?

If he does, that will nail my decision to go to Netflix.

Because they have the power, we have to attain the same influence for just by igonoring it won't make it go away.

31. How does cutting off the satellite service
(never had cable) sound to you? How does emailing all those media outlets and letting them know exactly why we don't watch them anymore sound?

Because that's exactly what I did. Not that they care about one person, but if they start getting a LOT of those emails, if cable and satellite providers start getting an alarming number of disconnect orders, then they WILL sit up and listen.

24. Watch FOX News - only when forced to
the gym I belong to has it on the TV just above where I dress...It's amazing how I can get pissed off in the five minutes it takes me to get changed, whether it be on the way in or on the way out...

Pure propaganda...What's scary is those people who refuse to admit it...

26. I started to hate Fox before it was cool.
Aside from the noxious bile they try to pass of as news, they also have this nasty habit of cancelling or mutilating any good shows they might posess. Especially when the writers/directors refuse to give Fox creative control of the material.
