New Yorkers: What to do about Hillary and Schumer?

As of a few days ago, each was defending her/his publicly stated ( and at this point, laugh-out-loud ridiculous)support of Bernard Kerik and for continuing the war of conquest in Iraq.

Personally, I'm sick of what passes for leadership from these two and others like them. If I wanted Republicans to represent me in the Senate I would have politically supported Damato and Lazio instead of Schumer and Clinton.

Anyway, it's time to stop making excuses for them. It's too late to challenge Schumer but what about a primary challenge to Hillary from the Democratic wing of the Democratic party?

8. Anyone... Rangel, Mark Green; anyone with any...

name recognition ( or not) and is willing and able to provide even an OUNCE of moral leadership on the big issues.

Point is, even MOUNTING a challenge is likely to produce results, in terms of bringing pressure to bear. If these people just keep getting renominated every cycle, regardless of how pusillaminous and ineffectual their "leadership" has been... what's going to change??

I want someone there that is going to challenge Bush; not collaborate with him. It can be Clinton, but if she won't do it, I want someone else.

Seems to me this is a good time to expect more than cautious "centrism" from Dem politicos. Bush's policies are resonating with a large portion of the electorate. Let's at least ASSUME, for the sake of argument, that skilled political leaders can actually "LEAD". To mean this means teaching, EXPLAINING to people why these policies are wrong and why alternative policies would better serve the interests of people in the USA and the world.

I might be wrong, but I'm beginning to doubt that either of our senators have this sort of potential. They sure don't give any evidence of it.

10. I'll take Mark Green.
Rangel can stay in the House. He's doing a good job there.

Before the actual mayoral election, they said that no one ever spent that much money (around $67 million, I think) on a campaign, and lost. Therefore, Billionaire Bloomberg ensured that he bought his position.

11. Blame it on the nanny.
Could your sordid past be any more interesting than Kerik's?

5. Oh she'd secure the nomination alright...
I've said it once and I'll say it again, no one would be able to stop a heavily financed and fully motivated Hillary campaign for the nomination. ;)

14. I agree
Hillary isn't my top choice for President in 2008, but I think she is also the 800 pound gorilla in the race as well. Hillary would have had a cakewalk to the '04 nomination if she had wanted it as well.

7. Yes she will. But time moves on and she's toast.
She's part of the great chicken shit Democratic tradition of the third milennium...stand back, act conciliatory, screw your core constituency and ask for more votes. The only proponent of the "Third Way" that I can stomach is Clinton and that's just because he's a Democrat who makes the Republicans eat it. His wife and the rest of the DLC clones are reigning on borrowed time. Watch Dean, Clark, and Ron Kirk (who opposed the war right out of the gate). They are our new leaders. Now all we need is a pissed off Hispanic Democrat in leadership and we're golden. 2008 is going to be extremely "angry" (your name is great) and it's going to be about 90% from our side. Hillary will be lucky if she gets a ticket to the parade platform.

19. I am disappointed in both of them, but
I think I understand why they both backed kerik. NY is receiving less funds from Homeland Security than Wyoming. I think they both thought with kerik's ties to Ny & bush, it was the only way to get the funds we need. Anyone remember last Jan 2004 when that guy buzzed the Statue of Liberty? How could that have occurred in a city where almost 3,000 people died? NY is like an accident waiting to happen & everybody knows it.

Still, I'm angry with both Schumer & Clinton for not making a big deal of lack of funding, lack of security, money promised still not sent, and the health risks imposed on the people in this city by bush's lies to the EPA. Remember bush's "Trifecta" joke & selling of pictures of himself on 9/11 to fill the coffers of the GOP? Where were these 2?

They always seem to take the path of least resistance. During the RNC convention they should have been on every TV show bringing these issues up & the fact that cops and firemen couldn't even be paid a decent salary. Wouldn't have been a bad idea for Kerry to have gotten in on the act too, but what did we get from all 3 of them? Silence.

It galls me that they used 9/11 at that convention like a mop. Kerik talking about how another 9/11 would definitely occur if Kerry was elected. Did you see Schumer or Clinton or Kerry point out the fact that it occurred on Rudy & Bush's watch? Or that NY still isn't being funded properly? Kerik & Rudy are 2 traitors to this city, no doubt, but the democrats did nothing to bring these issues out in the open either.

As for Hillary, dont take for granted rudy wouldn't beat her. There is alot dirt between kerik & rudy, especially kerik not being investigated fully by the DOI before his appointment. Democrats better keep this issue alive and the fact rudy sold this city out to get bush elected or Hillary is going to be history.

There is only one Clinton, I think is unbeatable in NY, and thats Bill. Ny'ers love him. Forget the adultery issue, one only needs to bring up rudy & kerik's love life. I think Bill Clinton could have any office in NY he wants.
