Chevy Chase calls Bush "A Dumb Fuck"
It's the F-Time Show With Chevy Chase

By Richard Leiby
Thursday, December 16, 2004; Page C03

Even certified Hollywood liberals were reeling after Chevy Chase's potty-mouthed Bush-bashing Tuesday night at the Kennedy Center, where the actor hosted an awards ceremony staged by People for the American Way.

For most of the evening, Chase was his usual comedic self, delivering lines like "This just in -- resignations in the upper echelon of the Bush administration. The Bush sisters have resigned and are being replaced by Paris and Nicky Hilton. Back for more news later."

After actors Alec Baldwin and Susan Sarandon delivered speeches accepting their Defender of Democracy awards, Chase took the stage a final time and unleashed a rant against President Bush that stunned the crowd. He deployed the four-letter word that got Vice President Cheney in hot water, using it as a noun. Chase called the prez a "dumb ." He also used it as an adjective, assuring the audience, "I'm no clown either. . . . This guy started a jihad."

Chase also said: "This guy in office is an uneducated, real lying schmuck . . . and we still couldn't beat him with a bore like Kerry."

've long liked Chevy Chase , but now I like him even more. He joins Jon Stewart and Bill Maher as my favorite comedians.

To stand up and call Bush a dumb fuck at a hoity-toity event like one hosted by the People for the American Way in mid-December http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3216-2004Dec15.html >, takes some guts. Chase just said what most of us want to say, but doubt we would if we had a national stage like Chase has and had to worry about pissing off fans who pay to see our movies and acts.

group.

You might be thinking of the Kennedy Center Honors, which was held a few weeks ago.

Chevy Chase may no longer be in the "A" list, but he's not stupid.

3. Chevy giving Mann Coulter ammo...
She always contends that we can't argue about Bush's policies without calling him "dumb" -- the 'F bomb' is just a cherry on the cake.

Not that Chevy was mistaken... but the word "evil" might have been a better choice than "dumb"

Disrespecting the Office of the Presidency
Friday, December 17, 2004
By Bill O'Reilly

Disrespecting the office of the presidency -- that is a subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo."

"Now you don't see this kind of thing on the Right. You don't see prominent conservatives cursing out Democratic members of Congress, for example. Now I know talk radio can get rough but nothing like what these Hollywood nitwits are throwing out there."

<snip>

"Most sane Americans respect honest dissent, and we need two strong parties in this country, but we don't need foolish, demeaning attacks on any president, no matter what party he or she is in."

Oh Bill, there you go again. Accusing people of doing the very things you do on a daily basis, yet have convinced yourself that you don't actually do. You sir have crossed the line into psychosis.

Let them heap scorn. That's all they're good at. Eventually, it's a tactic that wears thin.

On the other hand, wouldn't it be awesome if Chevy's career took off again after this? What an enormous shitburger that would be for the punditocracy to have to swallow.

"George W. Bush is renowned for saying things like "It's not the way American is all about." His gaffes include "Desert Storm. We sold a lot of tickets" and "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm dictator." So if Bush has a way with words it's for twit-like wit and malapropian fluency. Last year he told the Los Angeles Times, "One of the common denominators I have found is that expectations rise above that which is expected." And on the campaign trail he shared with the New York Times: "I don't care what the polls say. I don't. I'm doing what I think what's wrong."

"I know how hard it is to put food on your family."
- Greater Nashua, New Hampshire, 1/27/2000

"What's not fine is, rarely is the question asked, are, is our children learning?"
- Los Angeles Times, 1/14/2000

King: Can a president do something about ? There was a movement that Bill Clinton can sign an executive order dealing with it. To your knowledge, can you?
Bush: I don't know about that, but yes, I think the President can call upon racial reconciliation in America."

47. MCM:"bush is articulate when talking about the things he likes...."
"...like war, the death penalty, retribution, etc." I saw Miller a long time ago in a TV interview discussing bush's use of language. People are naturally more articulate in things that they are interested in. For bush, when it comes to things like caring for the poor, he is lost.

But don't believe me. You should see what his "Speechalist" had to say.

You just might be making the same mistake as those who associate Moore's films with the Democratic party. What happened to individuals expressing their OWN opinions? You don't hear the left associating anything the gasbag Limbaugh says with the GOP. Why? Because it's Rush's OPINION and neither he or the GOP cares what WE think about it.

there are many people in the real world that have a very limited capability to express and defend their beliefs with anything other than obscenity and epithets. I thought DU might be different. It seems like we're just like everyone else.

Last year..bush was in the audience at the Kennedy Center awards and I figured he would be this year, too. I guess not!

45. Here's what I think...
I agree 100% with Chevy Chase, and the "Contrary" side
of me wants to stand up, applaud, and post signs around
town that echo his statement. The more logical, (less fun)
side of me says I shouldn't do this.

In order for this country to begin recovering from the mess
this administration has brought about, and will continue to
bring about for several more years, we must try to win back
some of the voters that went Repub for the "moral" reasons.

A large number of these people are turned off by the sight of
a bare breast, a four letter word, or public disrespect for the
president. I'm not talking about the Fundies here, they are too
far gone. I'm talking about the more moderate element of both
parties that watch the Susan Sarrandons and Michael Moores,
and don't like what they see.

It is a fact of life that the MSM is going to report the news
that is the most attention getting and/or controversial. They
don't feel the need to show both sides of the issues. They will
pander to their viewers, and grandstand on those points.

So there it is. In the company of my own family, I will continue
to refer to the Dim Son as a dumb, evil fuck, if not worse. It
helps me to release my frustration...but I will limit my more
public comments to that one simple, concise statement that
says it all: "Get used to it."

69. The word Fuck.
It seems to draw attention. Kerry used it in a Rolling Stone interview. Would his interview have gotten any press otherwise? There must be a few hundred uses for that word. I feel that it is a word that has more negative meanings than positive even though most people like to fuck. It is a bit strange, yes?

71. This should help you sort it all out:

The Word Fuck.

Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English Language today is the word "Fuck", out of all of the English words that begin with the letter "F", fuck is the only word that is referred to as the F-Word. It's the one magical word just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love.

Fuck, as most words in the English language is derived from the German word "fricken" meaning, "to strike". In English, fuck falls into many grammatical categories, as a transitive verb for instance, "John fucked Shirley", as a intransitive verb, "Shirley fucks".

Its meaning is not always sexual; it can be used as an adjective, such as "John's doing all the fucking work", as part of an adverb, "Shirley talks too fucking much", as an adverb enhancing an adjective, "Shirley is fucking beautiful".

As a noun, "I don’t give a fuck", as part of a word, "abso-fucking-lutely" or "in-fucking-credible" and as almost every word in a sentence "Fuck the fucking fuckers".

As you must realize there aren’t too many words with the versatility of fuck, as in these examples describing situations such as:-

Fraud : "I got fucked at the car dealership."

Dismay: "Aw, fuck it."

Trouble: "I guess I'm really fucked now."

Aggression: "Don’t fuck with me, buddy"

Difficulty: "I don’t understand this fucking question."

Inquiry: "Who the fuck was that?"

Dissatisfaction: "I don’t like what the fuck is going on here."

Incompetence: "He's a fuck off."

Dismissal: "Why don’t you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself?"

I'm sure you can think of many more examples. With all of these multi-purpose applications how can anyone be offended when you use the word?

I say, use this unique flexible word more often in your daily speech. It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly - FUCK YOU!

81. What can we do to support Chevy Chase?
Of course, I think we should write letters to the editors and such.

And don't forget to mention that Colon Powell called Bush & Co. a bunch of "fucking religious loonies" or something like that.

But what else can we do to tell the world that Chevy Chase, Margaret Cho, and Linda Rondstadt actually speak for us and speak the truth?

what was said, if it weren't for the "fuck".

But notice carefully how much play this gets, but almost nobody knows that bunkerboy gave the "finger" during one of his staged "press events".

It's all what the whore media chooses to play and how they play it.

Still protect all repukes, at any cost, at all times, while chastizing any and all dems every chance they get.

Chevy is calling a spade a spade. Why can't we liberals call it as we see it when these facists can call us everything in the book. Lynn Cheny calls Kerry "Not a nice man", Cheny tells a Democratic senator to go "fuck himself". These people think they can get away with anything and we don't have the right to respond? They can go fuck themselves. We need to stand up and tell them what self righteous, hypocritical, lying, evil whores they are when right is on our side. Remember, we are the good guys, they are the evil empire.

You the man, Chevy!!!

from Hollywood! I've wondered for a long long time just what is up with them?? They've been our bread & butter for a long time and I think it's a shame that they have been so silent!

I realize the Dixie Chicks had a hard go of it, but Bruce "the Boss" didn't seem to get any flack. Where did they all go????

Where's Eminem?? Where's Jackson Browne? Oh, I could go on and on. I saw the whole concert 2 times on Sundance Channel and it was fantastic, and now... NOTHING! Up in smoke, and the silence is so LOUD!
