Should Christmas be called Giftsmas?
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 09:29 AM by GingerSnaps
Right wingers wouldn't have a reason to say that they are more worthy of celebrating it more than Christian Democrats.

Walmart could make up thier own giftwrap and act like they own the holiday.

The Ghost of Giftsmas past "The gift that you returned & regretted"
The Ghost of Giftsmas present "Media selling us on buying presents"
The Ghost of Giftsmas future '"What future? With outsourcing no jobs no $$"

Commercialized Giftsmas would have the opposite meaning in A Giftsmas Carroll.

Tiny Tim could be played by KK Rove....greedy instead of needy and instead of him needing some medical help he would need a soul.

4. I live in the city
You can't walk down the street without getting hit in the back by a shopper in a hurry that needs to get to that last sale item before the next person does. :grr:

3. how about REICH-mas?
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 09:33 AM by radfringe
If the reich-wing wants to OWN christmas let them. I just won't be spending money on gifts for their holiday...

why should I 'celebrate' a holiday where I am excluded?

now wouldn't that put Walmart's boxers in a bunch if people just stopped celebrating a holiday that is no longer theirs?

6. The Manger would be filled with CEOs
They would be giving gifts of gold, silver and bonus checks so that they could outsource Bob Cratchets accounting job. We already know that his job didn't carry medical benefits because Tiny Tim couldn't go to the Doctor because they couldn't afford one. :D

7. I would love to see YULE resurrected
And get this back to what it was originally - a celebration of the return of the sun - life goes on. Instead we get this quasi religious mess every year. I'm just mad about how badly christianity's been perverted.
BTW - I hear the fundies want it pronounced CHRISTmas with a long I as in the name christ. Jesus Christ what next?

9. Do it! That way, those of us who honor Christ at Christmas
can do it without all the other garbage getting in the way.
