Do repubs honestly think we are only mad because we're not in power?
I've been hearing this more and more. One said, "bush has created the biggest government in history, democrats should be overjoyed. They're just mad that Hillary isn't hosting the cocktail parties" Is it possible some of them are that far out of touch to think that the only thing democrats stand for is the democrats to be in charge? Personally I don't give a damn which party is in power. I just want someone that is going to address my issues. The republicans, and this administration in particular, are NOT addressing my issues. They are, in fact, doing the exact opposite of everything I would do on almost every issue. And I'm just unhappy the democrats aren't in power?!?!?! Wow, how self righteous can you be?

1. Projection.
That's the only reason they would be mad if they weren't in power.

3. I've said it before and I'll say it again
ALOT of republicans vote as if they were rooting for their alma mater in a football game and democrats actually care about issues. They're cheering for the uniform, not the players. Only this isn't a stupid football game, this affects people's lives.

2. Yes, because pubbies see everyone in terms of their own failings
They see life in a mirror. Therefore Kerry gamed the system to get out of Vietnam, Kerry would say anything to get elected, the democrats are trying to steal elections, democrats are filled with elitists--well, go down the list. The worst they can imagine for democrats still isn't as bad as the truth about themselves.

5. Yes, right - as tanyev said, it's about projection - what they do best!
And also a good point that many are acting like this is a football competition, but another difference is there MUST be a total winner and a total loser. It's like they aren't happy unless they've taken ALL the spoils, and seem to be undone if the other team made ANY points during the game. And for them, God forbid that a Democrat should ever be elected. As Clinton has said, essentially, they feel entitled to the White House - forever.

7. They also seem to think they are entitled to the Supreme Court
How they don't think they already own the Supreme Court after they halted the recount in Florida 4 years ago is completely beyond me. The Supreme Court is to protect *everyone's* rights and protect us from ill-thought out laws, not to legislate their perverted breed of conservativism. They rant and rave about judicial activism then they want to pack the court to overturn Roe v Wade. Can you say hypocrite?

6. How about we're mad because the right to vote has been
taken away from 99.9% of the population, and given to the two or three people in control of the central tabulators. That is the only thing I am mad about. Regardless of all the people dieing in Iraq, it's not having our vote count that upsets me.

8. 'Repubs' and 'honest' in the same sentence?
That is their belief. That is how they view politics and they assume that others operate the same way.
