What can we do to influence the selection of the DNC chair? |
|
Regarding the selection of the new DNC chair -- I want to do whatever I can to make my voice heard. The problem is, I have no clue whom to write to. Should I write to the DNC? Should I write to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? Who has any power over the process, and how should I contact them??
Thanks for any replies!!

I added another signature !
Has this link been posted on DU before? If not, it should be a post by itself. Maybe it will get more attention.

4. Find your state Democratic Party website and contact your State Chair |

These people vote for the new DNC chairperson. Make it known to your state party officials who you want them to vote for.
Edited to add: Oh, and be sure to sign the petition linked above if you are a REAL Democrat and support Howard Dean.

6. Thanks for the info! And YES I am a Deaniac! |
|
Thanks for the great suggestions! I have already signed the petition and will contact my state Democratic Party chair.
And YES, I am very much a Deaniac, and proud of it!! I am so fed up with the current leadership of the Democratic Party, who couldn't win an election if their opponent was Osama bin Laden, that I am very close to leaving the Democratic party (i.e. changing my voter registration to independent).

and thanks for starting this topic!
I went to the State Democratic Chair Convention in Orlando on the 11th and heard the speeches of the candidates for DNC Chair. There was a private meeting with Dean at another hotel before the speeches started. It was very exciting. I went there in support of Dean and was surprised to see that Donnie Fowler was also running. He did a lot to foster the grassroots energy of the Clark campaign (of which I was a part).
Wellington Web was also very impressive, but either Dean or Fowler will bring a huge amount of grassroots energy to the Democratic Party.
