Poll question: what would make you vote third party?
I've seen so many posts during the primaries and since from people threatening to leave the party and/or vote third party.

With tongue firmly in cheek, I've consolidated all the reasons into one poll. Pick your reason.

for the 5th or 6th election in a row.

Oh, wait! THAT'S already happened!

P.S. I went ahead and voted for the last one. ;)

3. None of the above
First I should say that as an expat I still get to vote. The DNC needs to stop trying to be the RNC, if - in 08 I actually agree with the Democrats, I'll vote for them - if they are just not as bad as the Republicans, I won't.

26. Not really
I don't have to be right about EVERYTHING, but I also do not want to vote for a moderate republican.

4. How about this,,
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 09:01 AM by DeepGreen
They no longer represent me!
I believe Kerry could have been a great President but he
was not my first choice. The Democratic Party has slowly moved
to the right to try and get right wing votes. The Party
is moving farther and farther away from my beliefs and values.
So, none of your categories fit.
What it comes down to is, the Democratic Party is moving
away from me. I have not changed. And, the DLC has run way to the right. I will vote for the candidate that comes the closest to matching my beliefs. It appears that the Democratic Party no longer does that.

16. You'd have voted third party
over Truman, Kennedy, LBJ, Carter and Clinton, then. The liberal arm of the Democratic Party has always been the fringe. The party hasn't changed, you haven't changed, all that's changed is perception, and the fact that we are out of power.

If anything, you are the one that wants everyone
to think your way! And, if that doesn't happen you
get sarcastic and controlling. So, have your fun.
Be funny if you think you are!

19. Other: IF the Democratic Party continues the slide to the right
It's a doubly losing strategy that serves to legitimze the most outlandish Republican stances and allows them to further slide to the right which moves the center even more to the right while we are further marginalized.

The Democratic Party currently stands for nothing and if you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything.

23. Why vote third party? It's so easy have your vote not count these days!
The DNC/DLC is not anymore likely to care how I'll vote than BFEE is - for the very same reasons: elections are over in this country - 1996 was the last one.
