Xmas Dust-up Shows Dif between Dems & GOP
All election all the time: that's what the "battle" over Xmas led by the usual suspects (Hannity, O-Lie-ly, and the pious preachers) is all about.

At a time when most of the country is watching Rudolph, the conservatives continue their long battle to de-legitimize the Bill of Right, and prepare for '06 and '08 - and beyond.

For the fascists, there is no rest from the battle, and there never will be. And that's one of the reasons for the "decline" of liberals.

The Democratic Party is, right now, doing nothing. The only news about the world's oldest political party? DLC vs DNC vs Movin' on Up to the East Side! Who will be chairman (women apparently need not apply)?! Inside baseball - yeah the public is following this shit!

The GOP already has a message to fit the season. Let's not discuss Iraq, Iran, or Social Security! Let's lie about Christmas!! The red state rubes will love this - again, they will be told their way of life is under attack by Jews, Muslims, and (gasp!) people with a secular bent.

Where the hell are liberal Christians, liberal clergy, and even the Democratic Party? As usual, asleep as they listen to the beginning of Campaign '06. Yeah, in a year of 2, the party will wake up, and say "It's campaign time, give us some more money, so we can pretend to fight."

And we wonder why all these right wing victories. Liberals have left the building, and the wingers continue the battle - even at Xmas!

1. How the South went on to win and control America
The following is the true history of America. O.K. it helps if you are crazy, too.

General Grant should have shot Lee at Appomottax Court House, Virginia. After all he was a traitor who fought for the right to keep his fellow man as salves.
But Grant thought he did the right thing and let General Lee ride off on old Traveler. That is where all the shit started for the blue people of America.

So General Lee rode off to help start Standard Oil, with John David R.. Which over time started drilling in Tex ASS and that brought in the interlopers from the east called the Bushies. Who sank some of the money that Prescott bush got dealing with the nazis into oil drilling.

And that begat redneck oil workers who were pacified with booze, hunting, pussy, football, and a blond haired blue eyed Jesus that hates people. Those workers flew the Stars and Bars from the drilling rigs.

And as a young man, the grandson of Prescott Bush, fell from one of the rigs while hanging a Rebel flag for his frat.

Close to death he was found by Dick Cheney, Saleim bin Laden, and Ken Lay who had a transmitter put into his back and said "We will rule the world through you." Young Mr. bush, just smirked and took a line of toot from the great great grandson of Stonewall Jackson. Who gave him a ride home in the Carlyle helicopter.

Sing it with me "The night they drove old dixie down ..... and all the people were singing ....."

7. some Dem responses
"We are the most Christian nation on earth - precisely because we practice tolerance."

"Many fundies HATE Roman Catholics, especially at this time of year. We need to emphasize tolerance not bigotry." (cite numerous examples)

14. Screwed by the MSM
We can respond all we want, but the MSM won't report any of it.
We have no noise machine. When a Dem says something, does anybody hear it?

6. The only people talking about this are fundamentalist
Christians and the media, who are trying again to drive up their ratings by scaring people. Nobody else cares (unless they're reactionary and don't know any better).

8. Gee, that approach REALLY worked well
during the last campaign:

"No one is really listening to those Swift Boat Guys"

"Gay marriage - naw, only the fundies care about that, it won't affect the election"

and on and on and on

This stuff needs to be answered - but it won't be.

11. No Kidding
Front page of my local RW rag had a story about a School Board member who was upset because teachers are afraid to tell their students "Merry Christmas". This year, the School Board repealed it's decades old policy against prayer in the schools. It's now ok to pray as long as it isn't organized. It's ok for students to hold religious meeting in the school buildings. The Christian Coalition has donated plaques of the motto "In God We Trust" to be displayed in each of the schools.

12. The only problem I have with the above is the last sentence.
If people want to pray privately--regardless of their religion--they should be able to do so.

But I wonder if the plaque part is consitutional.
