If Howard Dean were elected DNC Chairman, ...
... what would he accomplish? What would be his agenda? The DNC Chairman is supposed to help Democrats get elected. Would he actually be able to help the Democratic Party retake Congress and the White House or would he be such a divisive figure and ineffective administrator that the Democratic Party would be even further divided than it already is?

1. I think he'd be divisive at first
I think a radical change in management styles always makes some people mad but I think in the long run it's what the Democratic party needs - and has needed since at least 94 - you could arguably say 68.

2. He would inspire more grassroots involvement.
He would criticize corporations.

3. Well. Howard Dean, first of all, isn't the "radical liberal" as he
was painted to be. Secondly, Dean would be a populist and would attempt to bring into the Dem fold the south's angry white guys. After all, Howard was correct when he said that the Democratic Party was not outreaching for the guy w/ the gun rack and Confederate flag on his pickup truck. I, for one, would be interested in what offerings he has.

4. catch 22
Democrat and Republican are just proton and electron in the corporate molecule that runs this country. Kerry's Milquetoast campaign removed all doubt for me. Howard Dean would have to either get with the program (which I don't see happening) or powers stronger than DNC chair would prevail upon him to negate his existence.

5. He'd be an effective spokesman about the time * starts to tank.
We have no one at the top, other than Teddy K (bless his heart) who just lays it out, tells the TRUTH as we see it. We have a compelling case and it needs to be heard nationwide. His comment about not running a just-the-battleground-states campaign again is so right. It's show time and that meand Dean. Hope Kirk and the others are actively involved. Most of them have a great deal to offer.

7. Biden is the best when he's cranked up. He really lets it rip.
I'd like to see him cranked up all the time. He's something to watch. I think he scares people with his intensity, which is a damn good thing for us.

8. I would finally feel we the people won something.
Who the fuck is Harry "I am against a woman's right to choose" Reid? Where do these so-called leaders come from?

9. A strong point in Dean's favor is that
he has the approval of the NRA.
Without the appearence of pandering he could make an appeal to
gun owners in red states. He truly does want to make life better
for them while letting them keep their guns.
Vermont is the only state where a permit is not required to
to carry a handgun

10. Howard Dean is exactly what we need as DNC chair ... for many reasons
He has a **proven** record of getting actual financial support from the grass roots. His campaign, and then his DFA should prove to anyone he can get things organized, up, and running successfully. He incites passion, something our current party leaders need to get by drastic means, up to and including by high colonic if need be.

More to the point, perhaps, is our party has NO spokesman. Reid? Feh! Pelosi? ...mmmm ... nah. Kerry? I don't *think* so. It *has* to be the DNC chair until someone else pops up. Much as the media and "popular wisdom" tells us otherwise, the good doctor's message would have, and still will, play well in the red states. Just ask a southerner.

And then there's the scream. We all know the real story there. Media bullshit. But Dean has taken full and complete ownership of it and has not in any way run from it. Can you imagine a better in-your-face, we're baa-aaack, fuck you, kind of symbol for us?

Yeeeaaaarrrrrrrgghhhhhhh!!!!!!
