1. I think my neighbor might object to the leather strap |
|
they might enjoy the feathered boa however...
If they would just scream "Spank me, farmboy!!!" , I think we could find common ground

over there, guns a blazin' and started to take them all hostage. No, no, that just won't do in my neighborhood. Maybe that's what they do in Crawford. Maybe that's why he HAS no neighbors, come to think of it.

Dubya's sickly "love your neighbors as you would like to be loved" is a travesty of Christianity. I think it is a mongrel mix of the words of Jesus and St. Paul. And, as usual with Dubya, his weak words provide an insight into the man.
The originals...
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12)
"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14 RSV)
Notice how Dubya's mongrel amalgamation neuters these fundamental lessons of Jesus and St. Paul. Dubya's words are about good intentions and false, Pollyanna emotions. If you don't care whether your neigbor loves you, then to hell with your neighbor.
In stark contrast, Jesus' words were about good action in daily life, and Paul's words were about valuing your neighbor's life and feelings as much as your own. No wiggle room. No squishy plays on emotion. Real Christianity.

What does this man know of love? He knows the false love of the people who hate him being kept away from his sight while the adorers are given a front row seat. How else to explain the loyalty oath people had to sign in order to get in to one of his campaign events.
My city is still steaming about the trips he made here. Never paid for anything, though he visited here 3 times. Taxpayers now pay for campaign trips.
