Poll question: What killed more people, the tsunami or GW Bush? |
|
Based on non-american media worldwide, Bush seems to be the clear winner so far. He is the third leading political cause of death in the last 30 years in iraq, behind saddam, and the Iranians in their war with Iraq.

...I really don't think this is a really tasteful question at the time. What's going on in Asia right now is so fucking horrible, any attempts to downplay it (even though you may not be intentional) are really not appreciated.

6. Is there tasteful carnage? |
|
All the media of the world is focused on the death of the innocents at the hand of nature. As it should be.
But the silence at the carnage by the hand of man...well, that's so very tasteful and will not upset anyone's dinner.
More have died at the hand of man. George Bush is only one of a long line of efficient population decreasers.
Then something like the tsunami happens and we remember for a moment how much we need each other, and what the real enemy is.

My heart absolutely aches for the victims of the Asian tsunamis.
Can't we for one moment put aside our own heartache and realize that not everything in the world involves and affects only us?
In this case, one thing has nothing to do with the other, and one thing is certain: the act of nature that was the Asian tsunamis was not a political event.
I find this question to be both cynical and distracting. 20,000+ souls have perished, who knows how many are grieving and in pain. Can we stop and just feel for them, and help them?
