Saudi Government Daily Accuses U.S. Army of Harvesting Organs of Iraqis

http://www.memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=SD83404

If you thought you'd heard everything, take a look at this...

"Secret European military intelligence reports indicate the transformation of the American humanitarian mission in Iraq into a profitable trade in the American markets through the practice of American physicians extracting human organs from the dead and wounded, before they are put to death, for sale to medical centers in America. A secret team of American physicians follow the troops during their attacks on Iraqi armed men to ensure quick operations for extracting some organs and transferring them to private operations rooms before they are transferred to America for sale.

"The reports confirm the finding of tens of mutilated cadavers or cadavers missing parts.

snip...These teams offer $40 for every usable kidney and $25 for an eye. The reports confirm the finding of mutilated bodies in Fallujah.

snip...The reports revealed that that the American forces restricted the media by force to prevent them from getting near the scenes and recording the events. But the relatives of the Iraqis are aware of these facts. The reports have indicated that the military forces of the European allies have noticed the absence of organs from the cadavers that were dealt with by the Americans and have reported to their high command, which instructed them to maintain silence and to avoid the discussion of the subject due to its gravity, while the military and intelligence high command have written secret reports about was observed by their forces and sent them to the European ministries of defense for their information."

1. Though thoroughly appalling, it could be worse.

2. I wonder if there is a U.S. medical team harvesting embryo...

BAYER ACCUSED OF BUYING CONCENTRATION CAMP PRISONERS FOR EXPERIMENTS
Suit Alleges Joseph Mengele and Bayer Representative Worked Together on Research

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana
German pharmaceutical giant Bayer was accused last week of buying concentration camp prisoners from the Nazis for use in drug experiments and product tests.

The accusations came in court papers relating to a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages and the recovery of profits that plaintiffs allege accrued from the research.

The charges were revealed in a lawsuit filed by Eva Mozes Kor, a survivor of the Auschwitz death camp. Kor claims her twin sister and she were used in medical tests run by Joseph Mengele and a Bayer representative.

Charges that Bayer repeatedly purchased prisoners from Auschwitz were allegedly documented in recently declassified World-War II-era documents, the Reuters news agency reported.

Bayer, which last week announced its participation in a compensation fund for Holocaust-era slave laborers that has been established in order to avoid U.S. lawsuits, withheld comment other than telling Reuters that it was "very surprised" by the charges.

3. Likely story, most have been blown up or cut a part with a ........
50 cal. tends to make for lots of missing parts. Besides there are not enough medics to go around and most organs are useless from the traumatic nature of their owners deaths.

4. I'm Not Exactly Calling BS on This Story
but I remain highly skeptical of anything originating from MEMRI. Check out the following UK Guardian article:

Brian Whitaker investigates whether the 'independent' media institute that translates the Arabic newspapers is quite what it seems

Monday August 12, 2002

<snip>

Memri's purpose, according to its website, is to bridge the language gap between the west - where few speak Arabic - and the Middle East, by "providing timely translations of Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew media".

Despite these high-minded statements, several things make me uneasy whenever I'm asked to look at a story circulated by Memri. First of all, it's a rather mysterious organisation. Its website does not give the names of any people to contact, not even an office address.

The reason for this secrecy, according to a former employee, is that "they don't want suicide bombers walking through the door on Monday morning" (Washington Times, June 20).

This strikes me as a somewhat over-the-top precaution for an institute that simply wants to break down east-west language barriers.

The organization has links to Israeli intelligence and prominent neocon Richard Perle as well.

5. Oh dear, people will believe this stuff.
There of people who still think this goes on in this country. Not that I do not think that the rich are not moved to the top of the list. They swear it is not so but didn't some baseball player get moved up to the top of the list at one time. Yes I do understand that you have to be the right type to get what ever comes up so you may not always be the next on the list. The whole subject is really scary to me. Body parts from one to other is really hard to take. I just can not get up to date on this stuff. Like having some ones baby for them.

6. Organs from Dead Bodies Are Useless
Organs taken from cadavers are actually taken from bodies that are brain dead but on life support (heart/lung). As soon respiration and circulation stops in the body, it either must be restarted immediately or the organs are useless.

And that's just one reason why this story smells like bullshit!

8. I just don't believe this
It's too much like the urban legends that have been floating around for years about unwilling organ donors. None have ever proven true.

Common' Snopes, get on this!

9. This is so obviously
urban legend that it's criminal to repeat. As already pointed out, cadavers are not good sources for organs. Snopes does debunk the waking up in a bathtub silliness, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they get on this.

And if the organs were being extracted and used on any kind of mass basis, there would be a sudden spike in organ transplants that would actually be noticeable.
