FINAL CLARIFICATION: Chris D. Jackson Urges Everyone To Support Donnie Fow
Folks, in order to do away with all confusion, I am changing the title and a few words of my release. Instead of continuing the confusion and sending a letter to Al, I think this is the best route. I have decided to change the wording. Instead of saying the Al Gore Support Center endorses Donnie, it just says I do as the admin of the site. I am again very sorry for any confusion. I aplogize for the frenzy and vagueness, it was not intended:

Chris D. Jackson Urges Everyone To Support Donnie Fowler

December 26th, 2004 -- Chris D. Jackson, the administrator of the Al Gore Support Center, officially announces he is backing of Donnie Fowler for DNC Chair via this letter. Please note that this letter was initially sent to the members of the Al Gore Support Center and addresses their concerns as well.

Dear members,

I hope that each and every one of you had a very Merry Christmas! As you know, we are approaching the beginning of a new year. In the upcoming year we have a lot of work to do and we are going to need your help! Our first goal of the new year will be to take back our party and rebuild it without conceding anything to anyone. It is time we start to take charge our what is ours. It must start with us! As you have heard Al Gore say before, all political victories start at the grassroots level. Therefore, today I announce that I, Chris D. Jackson, the administrator of the Al Gore Support Center, endorse Donnie Fowler for DNC Chair.

Throughout his career, Donnie Fowler has achieved a leading role in political and high technology circles through his work in Silicon Valley and at the Federal Communications Commission, service in the Clinton White House, and work on six presidential campaigns. He has advised dozens of companies, policymakers, public advocacy groups, and political campaigns on how to manage their media, policy, business development, & technology agendas.

I have studied politics for a while now and I have yet to find anyone as young as Donnie with so much political experience. It is simply quite amazing! Only in his mid-thirties, he has been involved in the following campaigns:

Six Presidential Campaigns / Four Presidential Cycles
o Gephardt '87-'88, Jackson '88, Clinton/Gore '96, Gore/Lieberman '00 (National Field Director), Wesley Clark '03 (Campaign Manager), and Kerry/Edwards '04 (Michigan State Director)

Political and Campaign Work in Fourteen States on the Ground
o S.Carolina, Iowa, New Hampshire, Connecticut, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Wyoming, California, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Virginia

You might be wondering, what is Donnie’s view on Former Vice President Al Gore? Well, I personally asked Donnie that and I found out that he loves the big guy just about as much as we do. In 2001, 2002, and 2003 Donnie spent his summers teaching at Mr. Gore’s Summer Academy in Nashville, which is a political effort to get young people involved in grassroots politics, for no pay. Before that Donnie served as Gore’s National Field Director in the 2000 election. I can say without hesitation that Donnie Fowler would not only give Mr. Gore the respect he commands, but the admiration he deserves.

Aside from having a vast record of political involvement and a fondness of Al Gore, Donnie also is worthy of you support because he has a real plan and vision for our party. Like you and I, he does not want to concede anything to the Republicans. Like you and I, he is tired of our party being falsely labeled, and like you and I, he is tired of our party not standing firm on what our party was founded on. If Donnie is elected DNC Chair in February, you can rest assure our party will be stronger and more unified than ever!

I hope that you will join me in early 2005 to help make Donnie Fowler our new chair, thus putting our party back on track for victories for years to come!

====================================================================================

So, are you ready to help elect Donnie the new DNC Chair?

In order to spread the word about Donnie and his vision for our party, please do the following:

* Write a letter to several DNC members about his agenda for change
* Go to a political blogs and forums and say some good things about Donnie

www.dailyKos.com
www.bloggingofthepresident.com
www.MyDD.com
www.reachm.com/amstreet
www.democraticunderground.com
www.democrats.org

* Make a contribution to his effort (http://changetheparty.com )
* Vote for him online at http://standupdemocrats.org / and at any other online poll
* Tell others to watch Donnie on television and listen to him on the radio
* Talk to any DNC members you know and try to persuade them to vote Donnie!

====================================================================================

We sincerely hope that you will help us on this very important endeavor. As you know, every election affects us and how we live. If we act now, we may just get what we have been wanting in 2008!

To visit Donnie's official website, please go to: http://www.changetheparty.com

Thank you and have a great new year!

Chris D. Jackson
Al Gore Support Center Administrator

12. Where is Fowler TODAY?
What's his schedule? How about in Jan?

This might help give people a glimpse into why they should vote for him
Rather than look where the train has been, can we get a sense fo where it's going?

What's Fowler doing right now?

15. That is just the point
I wanted to make it clear Gore was not making this endorsement, I was as the site admin. I am an honest person and wanted people to believe me.

Also, currently Donnie is flying around the nation visiting with various democratic organizations spreading his vision on how he thinks to run the party. He also is doing various media appearances such as Inside Politics and Hannity and Colmes. I hope this helps.

16. Donnie doing "Hannity and Colmes" sort of answers the question about
him for me. I know who Fowler is and his past history. I don't know why he's been brought up at the last minute when there are other candidates who have been out there..

I realize you are somehow involved in his candidacy...so I'm not dissing you personally...since you want to promote him, but you started off on the wrong foot with this.

Why don't you post why YOU think Fowler is more qualified than the other candidates. Perhaps give a statement from him about what he sees about the role of the Democratic Party in America today.

17. Wrong
He did Hannity and Colmes because he feels that we shouldn't concede that media to the Republicans. Also, Donnie was one of the first candidates to announce his intention to run, so where you get htat he came on late I don't know.

Also, it was not my fault or intention to have to revise my endorsement letter. Folks kept thinking it was Gore, not our site. It was for their benefit that I redid the letter because I didn't want to give any false impressions.

Also, here is what Donnie thinks the Democratic party should be:

25. You know there is only so much garbarge
someone can take. When lies and insults are thrown your way from people who already have made up their mind, it is pretty bad. When I get people questioning my motives and calling Donnie Fowler the "f" word even if they never met him, you better believe I am going to fight back.

The problem with people here is you hate dissent about like Republicans. Most here feel Dean is the DNC char, when in fact he isn't even officailly running. You did it to Gore supporters who wanted Gore in 2004 and you also did it to Kerry supporters before he became the eventual nominee. Your tatic of lying and demeaning people really does work. Keep it up and we will be just like the republican party before too much longer.

27. You don't know me.
I was fine with Gore. I was extremely upset when he was destroyed in 2000, and I was proud to shake his hand at a MoveOn speech he gave last year.

Your baseless assumptions and wanton attempts to push someone with little reasoning or persuasion leave much to be desired.

The sooner we are like the Republican Party, the better. This moderation isn't a fair opposition. We will never win until we start actually sticking to our guns.

People hate the national Democratic Party because they have no core beliefs, and they think we are pandering jackasses. When we stop pandering and changing our strategy every five minutes, maybe we will get some respect from the media and everyone else.

I'm for Dean because he looks at the available information, decides what is right, and works to achieve what is possible with that right goal in mind.

When you find a candidate that holds a candle to him, come back here. And try to have some manners when you do.

28. I am proud you support Dean and I respect that
However, I am an honest person and the charges that were leveled at me here are unfair. There is no way in my right mind I would try to insinuate Al Gore was making this endorsement or try to use his name as capital. The name of our site is and has been the Al Gore Support Center for 3 years. We do grassroots things, just like this.

I even changed the endorsement to read that I, as the admin of my site, was the one making the endorsement so I would not insinuate or confuse anything. Yet I am met with very harsh things.

I have said time after time on here, I respect your choice, but I don't get that same respect. In my original post I said I just want a discussion, not a flame war, yet look what happened.

There are some posters that just won't even let me get a word in about Donnie before they totally dismiss it or they come up with off the wall allegations like he "sucked" in MI, which is not true. When confronted with the facts, they resort to calling me and Donnie profanities.

Seriously, when I first posted this, I had good intentions, yet some folks try to make me look like Osma Bin Laden or something. Our party will never move foward without everyone going together. This negativity towards your own party members is bad and I urge it to stop.

33. Fair enough.
My main problem is that like others have said, what you are doing is only a short distance away from spamming or telemarketing, and you seem to want to argue with people who disagree.

I'm all for rough and tumble political debate, and would interested to hear about other candidates for DNC chair.

All I seem to be hearing about here is how rude DU'ers and Dean supporters are. This will not win many converts.

I have a great deal of respect for President Gore, even with some of his flaws. He is a brilliant man with noble intentions.

I salute you for your support of Gore. I think Dean is a better choice than Fowler though, because he has a solid reputation and history, a firm grasp of what we are up against and how to beat it, and an extremely competitive nature. I want him in my corner. I'm certainly going to remain in his.

36. Amen.
Dean has a knack for making sensible policies sound...well, sensible.

He is much needed right now, because most Democrats don't know how to talk about issues without using Republican terms and accepting Republican premises.

Dean knows better, and can show Republican dogma to be the nonsense it is.
