Anyone want to create a Russ Feingold supporters group?
I thought it may be interesting to create a group. I'm not sure what the mission statement would be, but I'm hoping he will run in '08. I've been paying attention to him for several years now and I admire his principle.

1. I admit that I don't know a whole lot about Russ Feingold,
but I have a generally very positive impression of him.

I will always support Wes Clark for a presidential run before I would support anyone else, but Feingold would probably be my second choice, and my first if Clark ends up not running.

I would definitely like to learn more about him and would support such a group and be active in it as long as it's acceptable that I have a primary loyalty to someone else.

2. Me too....
Same loyalties....same conditions...

Although I am not "Gun-Ho" to support another Senator, I will give him a listen (in case Wes Clark is not running in 2008).

From what I hear, Russ has stood up when the rest were sitting down. As many know, I consider that to be a valuable leadership quality.

Beyond that, I would like to know in more details of his National Security and Foreign Policy experiences. I consider experience in these areas to be important in this post 9/11 World. Bush is leaving a bunch of mess everywhere in the world.....and I need to hear Senator Feingold's possible solutions for some of the key problem areas.

3. *laughs. So hard.* I like the way there are like... five Feingold for
President threads on the front page (okay, so they were actually all posted at different times, but they've been bumped - although it would have been a smarter idea for the poster to just bump one, but we didn't need three extra threads anyway, did we? Hah.).

But hey! I'm in, definitely! What sort of group?

4. Russ Feingold would make an excellent president.
We in Wisconsin are lucky to have such a Senator. Unfortunatly, with presidental elections rigged like the last two, he'll never get in.

5. sure
i'm not really thinking of the presidential race. but i think a general support group would be an ok idea and just to post info and other things on feingold up there. it would especially be helpful if/when he decides to run for president or anything else.

there is a mark warner one also and it's not very active, but mostly just a place where articles are posted for those who want to learn about him.

the good thing about them is at this early stage it allows people to just get to know the possible candidates without getting into fights with those who may support others. especially since we don't even know who will run.

the mission statement could say something about how it's a forum to learn about the senator and to discuss his record and current and future plans in politics or anything else.

or maybe you might just want to post on the politics forum for a while and if it looks like feingold stuff is taking up a lot of space then start a group specifically about him.

6. Further Discussion
Anyone who's interested in further discussing the possibility of a Feingold run for President in '08 should consider joining the message boards for DraftRuss.com at http://draftruss.proboards43.com

That way we can organize by state and start to develop more of a base.
