"Actions speak louder than words."

They are right. Bush's actions during this tragedy really do speak for themselves.

I am ready for a real president.

bush failed, and since Clinton actually cares about
Human Beings suffering had to do something.

I so wonder how bush sleeps . I imagine it is
quite restless .

just as he did on 9/11. Who was the first into the NYC. Clinton even flew back from Australia and was in NYC before Bush was.

5. Horrific natural catastrophe?
The Bush administration spends three days completely paralyzed by events, then emerges to boldly blame Clinton. It happened on September 11, and again this week.

You may quote me, Washington Post. That is, if you can remove your lips from Stupidhead's sphincter long enough to do what used to be your job.

Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 09:55 PM by Dr Fate
Tell me exactly how I am incorrect before you label my sentiment.

You say the Republicans are "idiots" for being effective. I say we are the apparent "idiots" for not being effective.

Prove me wrong- show me a statement from a top Democrat that counteracts this propaganda-show me a statement form a top Democrat challenging the media for allowing this propaganda to go unchecked. You cant do it. So who are the "idiots?"

Recognizing our weaknesses is not "cynical"- its merely observant. We need to stop being the victims and start kicking some ass. If that is cynical, then so be it.

31. The implication is that Clinton did everything for political reasons...
...and that Bush is "above" that type of behavior.

This is supposed to be the GOP/media excuse for Bushs apparent lack of being able to deliver some meaningful, healing words-like most real Presidents have been able to do.

They always bring up Clinton AKA Emanuel Goldstein when they need to deflect from their screw-ups. He's been out of office for how long now?

Former President Bill Clinton also grabbed the spotlight in Europe with a BBC interview in which called for a coordinated relief effort.

"It is really important that somebody takes the lead in this," he told the BBC's Today program.

Clinton's remarks caused displeasure at the White House, according to the Washington Post. The newspaper said Bush aides criticized the former president for being too quick to get in front of the cameras.

"Actions speak louder than words," a top Bush aide told the newspaper.

A White House spokesman said Mr. Bush could monitor developments at his Texas ranch without the need of a return to Washington or a public statement.

"The president wanted to be fully briefed on our efforts. He didn't want to make a symbolic statement about 'We feel your pain,'" a White House official told the newspaper.

26. Clinton couldn't rely on the media to mediate what he was trying to tell
America. That's why Clinton had to communicate directly with America every chance he got.

Bush, on the other hand, can count on the media to present Bush positively even when the unmediated reality is an unmitigated disaster.

Bush does better not going to the cameras because the whitewashed media version of him is so much better than reality (remeber his post-9/11 appearances -- they were more frightening than 9/11 in many ways).

Its mother fucking incompetence every time. No one's at the wheel assessing the situation and preparing a response. There's not one goddamn reason why Rice as NSA shouldn't have sorted this out. Once again they are a day late and a dollar short, obesessed with the crap game they have going in Iraq and ignoring an opportunity for a masterstroke in the "war on terror". They could have been magnanimous like never before and genuinely altered people's thinking about the USA. That's how diplomacy gets advanced. One fine day the people who voted for this boob have just got to realize that Bush is just plain small-time.

Bush Biking, Relaxing at Ranch
By Deb Riechmann Associated Press Writer
Published: Dec 28, 2004
CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - Besides monitoring the devastating earthquake in Southeast Asia, President Bush is biking and strolling around his ranch here and pondering tax reform and other goals in his second term.
"He's clearing some brush this morning," deputy White House press secretary Trent Duffy said Tuesday, adding that the president and first lady also planned to host friends at the ranch.

67. This blogger puts it all in perspective...
"...Now, let's leave aside for a moment the discussion of this administration's words to action ratio; is it in any conceivable universe appropriate for the White House to react to a cataclysmic tragedy by taking verbal swipes at former Presidents? This is sickening and disgusting. And sadly, no more than we've come to expect.

So I guess that's it; if the administration thinks it's okay to score cheap points based on the deaths of 60,000 people, well, fine."

<snip>

"If you could experience empathy, you might actually embrace your role as leader of the Free World and try to do something. You might try to pony up actual money, not just dispatch a destroyer and give out the kind of money Halliburton spills every day.

But of course, it's more important for you to poke fun at former President Clinton..."
