AP Article on Chimp from Monday practically scrubbed by Tuesday
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 04:07 PM by Sparkly
I find this weird. On Monday, there was an article titled "Bush Monitors Tsunami Damage from Texas." Sometimes they make little corrections or additions, but this one completely changed.

I posted about it here, because I thought this in particular was so absurd:

"Now is a time for him to, sort of, think about how he wants to address the American people," Duffy said, adding that there were no speechwriters at the ranch. "I think the best way to characterize it is there are some initial drafts."

But if you look now, the article has changed and that quote is gone. Here's the link:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20041228/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

Here's almost the original article still up at CNN, but I don't recall the part about the inaugural address:

And fwiw, here's my post from Monday:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1455141&mesg_id=1455141

On edit: I may have misread the original -- I thought the statement about speechwriters was referring to a statement on the tsunami disaster. Anybody else remember?

2. Then, back in 2001 there was ...

Bush monitoring terrorist planning from Crawford.

We know how well that works.

3. Sparkly, I remember that thread.
It was remarkable because (if I remember correctly) the Chimp himself was making notes for an address or a speech, right?

I laughed because of your comment--something about the weather. So yes, Chimpy was aware of it, according to the original article.

6. WHY ON EARTH should the fucking PRESIDENT of the USA need
a fucking speechwriter to say a few fucking words about the greatest single event loss of life in our lifetime? Does he need a speechwriter to announce he's gotta go take a shit? Does he need a speechwriter to order his fucking dinner? Does he need a speechwriter to talk to the brush he's always fucking clearing?

How Fucking Stupid IS this man?

And to quote Bill "Vegas" Bennett: "Where the FUCK is the outrage?????"

7. No fucking shit! Clinton wouldn't need a speechwriter, but we know
