Count actor James Earl Jones on the side of America.

Contrary to the anti-American loudmouths from Hollywood, James Earl Jones has expressed his support for military force in disarming Saddam Hussein.

-snip-

''All people have to be prepared,'' Jones said. ''If we are going to be the police, we also have to be the guardians. We can no longer play games. I was not against the war in Bosnia. I was against it taking so long. I was not against the war in Somalia. Again, it took too long, and we didn't finish the job. We should've stayed and finished the job. About this pending war, I just think we should've finished that war the first time.''

-- James Earl Jones

24. Clint Eastwood is on that list and he is NOT a repug

Elected mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea as a Democrat.

Appointed to a position with the California EPA by Democratic Gov. Gray Davis.

Removed from that position by Republican Gov. Schwarzenegger.

Donated (very little) money to a couple of Democrats. I suspect one of those, last name Eastwood, is his son. Don't know for what he was running or what the result was.

Donated ZERO money to Republicans.

Oh, but he is best known for starring in war, western and cop movies, so we will just ignore every known fact of his politics and assume he is a Republican instead.

Except misinformation. These groups claim these celebrities are repuglican, that does NOT mean these celebrities are repuglican. I need more proof if i'm to believe any of them are repuglican.

James Earl Jones for one Participated in a dramatic reading of "A People's History Of The United States" by Howard Zinn, hardly something a good repuglican would do.

(Haven't you seen his break-dancing commercial?)

The dude is interested in MONEY! And the people who will pay him well to be their shill so of course he will at least give the impression of "following the leader."

About 20+ years ago, I saw his dad, a phenomenal actor himself (from whom Jr. apparently inherited his deeply resounding bass voice)- just born too soon - digging through a trash can on W. 43rd Street in NYC. looking for food. I will never forget that sight.

I was told that father and son had had a major falling out some years before - so maybe it was the father's fault - who knows? Seems that dad was more of a civil rights activist than son - more militant, and felt that son had "sold out" to the mainstream, I was told by some who knew him. But it was certainly a disheartening sight to see an old man, whose son was doing well financially, scrounging in garbage cans for food in broad daylight.

Are incorrect...

I mean because Jim Belusi went to the white house in 2002, does not make him a republican, they have few to no stars, or any considerable star power, so they take any little hint, any iota, that maybe some actor was in a room with Dan Quayle in 1989, and say he must be a repuke...

moveon.

on edit...

what was that site that showed who donated what and how much to either political party, maybe we can straignten this up.

43. More and more are becoming registered Independents
because they no longer feel welcome or taken seriously in the Democratic party. (Especially those of the Christian persuasion.)
And there's hardly any representation in Democratic leadership.

They might still eventually vote Democratic at the end of the day because it's the lesser of two evils, but you're right...there's a trickle going on, and if the party continues to ignore it, then they do so at their own peril.

for granted and that leadership needs to be changed to include more people from our rank and file base. Latin Americans, Blacks and the entire working class need to be provided a broader role in the leadership with the corporate whores and the political fat cats that are out of touch with our base taking a hike. The source for funding is now with the people through the internet and the leadership that has allowed our party to deteriorate over the last ten years needs to be replaced immediately.

Supporting something a republican does does not make one a republican.

Performing at a republican event does not make one a republican.

Unless you have a quote of someone saying, "I'm a republican" or have evidence someone has donated to republicans, you can't credibly claim someone is a republican.

This has been your talking point since your very beginnings here. Any particular reason?

My answer in the very next post: the truth...

And my "talking point" is, indeed, the truth:

Supporting something a republican does does not make one a republican.

Performing at a republican event does not make one a republican.

Unless you have a quote of someone saying, "I'm a republican" or have evidence someone has donated to republicans, you can't credibly claim someone is a republican.

Do you disagree? Are Kucinich, Dean, Kennedy, and most other elected Dems "republicans?"

Or will you continue to avoid the topic?

67. Van Morrison a Republican????
I can't believe that. Next we'll find out Bob Dylan supports Bush.

69. No - this is not true.
Laura Bush said in an interview she was a fan of Van Morrison, but he subsequently refused an invitation to play at the inauguration (the first one.)
