Amazing Trend to Exploit Into the New Year
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 11:57 AM by Cary
Neo-cons never cease to amaze me. Somehow, in their twisted minds, they have conceived a notion to transform themselves into victims of the tsunami. Somehow liberals, en masse, blame the Bush administration for all the deaths.

And, of course, since the victims are Muslim they deserve what they got and we shouldn't be expected to help them.

<scratching head in disbelief>

Anyway this seems to me to be a reactionary pattern. We all know the meme about the "liberal mainstream press", and the attacks on academia. As pukes continue to over-reach, and I hope they do change the Senate rules on judicial appointments, this is something we need to exploit.

Any thoughts?

2. ARE YOU KIDDING????
They are constantly whining that they are 'under attack'. Or finding something that is 'under attack', like 'Christmas under attack', 'Marriage under attack', or just 'conservatives under attack by liberal media', etc...

The fact that they are whining like this when they control all three branches of government would be funny if it weren't so fucking pathetic.

Bunch of pantywaist, whining wimps, if you ask me!

3. I second that "ARE YOU KIDDING"
Thanks htuttle for offering up two more great examples. It is pathetic. It makes me want to puke but more than that I would like us to make them pay for this attitude.

I think it's a weakness to exploit.

According them, of course, we're the whining wimps. Right?

Oh, yes. They're still the victims of Clinton's blow job.

7. Republican logic works like this:
The tsunami (though actually the Bush non-response to it) gave 'liberals' an excuse to attack the President.

Since it was the tsunami that created this opportunity (actually Bush's lack of response did, but they ignore that part), Bush's image (his most important quality to Republicans), and by extension all Republicans, are victims of the tsunami.

Get it? It doesn't make logical sense, but what Republican behavior does?

6. He is correct.
The right dominated media is now constantly repeating the 'stingy' comment by a UN official, a comment taken out of context and never directly directed at the United State.

This misuse of the comment creates the illusion the UN is insulting the United States, and gives the right the ability to claim they are once again under attack and suffering. It also furthers their goal to present the UN as an organization against America's interests.

4. The usual conflicting messages
BushCo always sends self-contracting messages to its loyal base.

And by claiming credit for the creation of an aid coalition Bush will, by default, take credit for all money raised by countries within the coalition.

8. NeoCon take on tsumani heard on Limbaugh show
while interstate driving with my dad, heading home from holiday vists, and on the day after the tsunami, I listened to the Rush show. (Dad is a die hard Dem, just likes talk radio). There was a substitute host who was just delighted that the NYT editorial made comment on "amoral" Mother Nature, and how the power of the planet is awesome, unstoppable, etc. (I have not read the actual editorial).

But what was remarkable was the stretch that since the planet has its own power, global warming is bunk and the planet will take care of itself. No need to worry. "This global warming nonsense is being rammed down the throats of our children in schools. "

I couldn't believe the callousness of using this tragic event to slam global warming. Surely the delicacy of the atmosphere that is created by the planet is just a little more sensitive than the movement of tectonic plates?

Facts have no impact on these people. Perhaps we need a new language as suggested by http://www.rockridgeinstitute.org/
