OK it is a New Year let's think toward Future and
2008 Presidential Campaign.
Sorry to say but a Massachusetts Liberal can't win all of America. That has been proved.
We need Red or even Purple State Democrats. Ohio, Michigan, Even Missouri, but Gephardt can't do it he has tried too many times without success.
Think and put the names of Democrats you know who can win in area other than the Northeast. Sorry that nixes Hillary too.

I can mention the name of Kathleen Sebelius. She is the Governor of Kansas. She is a Democrat who has won Two Statewide Offices, Governor and before that at least two terms as Insurance Commissioner, she did such a great job of cleaning up the Insurance Department that is partly what helped her win as Governor. That the the Taliban wing of the Kansas Republican Party, which caused many Republican to vote for her.

While I don't think Gov. Sebelius would want the job as President or even Veep we need to think outside of the box here.

Red State North Carolina, John Edwards may have a Chance in 2008 if he can escape the Kerry shadow. That and being a Trial Lawyer, but he has 4 years to distance himself from both.

Give your suggestion

2. Tried to make a Narrow suggestion and picked 2008 presidential
If you want to make suggestions for 2006 - go for it.

It wasn't a statement as to 2008 being our future. It is just the next Presidential campaign

4. The Democratic party and the Country has changed a lot in 40 years
We need to think to the Future not the past that was the point of the post. If we don't we will be left behind.

6. Exactly which is why we go left not the middle and moderate ourselves.

The DLC "a liberal can't win" has lost its last candidate for me! If Kerry had been allowed to be Kerry and a "liberal " he would have won.( and I think he did "win" after he became himself and dumped some of the moderation overboard!) We need to offer a choice. Repuke lite gets us no where. As has been proven again and again! Instead of making the Dem Party more "moderate" why not just vote Repuke? Only problem is, they know that in order to give people the "chouice" they crave, they had to be RW. Notice their "middle" is gone. Because it doesn't work!
