NOTHING.

Only Barbara Boxer and one other democratic senator stood against the Ohio vote count.

And letting the war criminal, torture-supporting, pro-death penalty fanatic Gonzales weasel his way through the hearing for his fitness to be attorney general was beyond disgusting. It was immoral, unAmerican and downright evil.

The Democratic party has become as irrelevant as a herd of farts in a blizzard. But worst of all, we have to vote for most of these dem shits again the next time around. What alternative do we have?

Jeeeez, we are so, so fucked.

1. sorry
only Barbara Boxer voted yea - all others voted nay

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=1&vote=00001

NO WE DON'T HAVE TO VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN

I told Sen Ted Kennedy and Rep Marty Meehan (neither one of which would have been politically "damaged" by speaking up as their seats are safe) that they wouldn't have my votes ever again

what do we do?

well, you

start calling and writing your senators and congresspeople
you run for office
you write letters to the editors
you write letters to news and commentary heads
you phone in to rethug talk shows and point out where they are wrong
you speak to your friends families coworkers

you stay educated as to what is going on
you join progressive organizations
you protest publically whenever you can
you buy blue
you boycott red
you give money to progressive organizations
you keep fighting and fighting and fighting and fighting and fighting

we are not fucked, the tide will turn again (hopefully we won't be all dead by then) and truth will win out

2. I've been doing much of the above for the past four years

Nonetheless, as long as we are once again forced to vote under the same terms we voted in Nov.(yes, I'm a tin hat wearer and think Kerry won it) we will never again win another election, regardless of which dem is running.

I just can't forgive these spineless senators for shutting up and going along. They care more about their jobs than about their country. Why? Beats me. Fuck 'em all.

5. I could have sworn that I heard Sen. Levin vote affirmative
but I guess I either mis-heard or he changed his mind.
