We need to resurrect FDR
or Johnson, or anyone! For crying out loud, we are already getting our asses kicked on Social Security. They are using FDR to promote privatization! http://www.progressforamerica.com/pfa/wrapper.jsp?PID=1101-27 , thanks to www.dailykos.com

1. Modern social liberalism and even civil rights make that more difficult
Let's face it, FDR did a lot of great things. Fighting for social justice wasn't one of them.

You do have a very good point thought, compared to FDR, Truman, and Johnson the leading politicians today are lightweights.

3. I'm not 100% convincted of Parl Harbor LIHOP but there's good evidence
Nonetheless, FDR goes down in history as one of the best presidents. What I wonder is if in 50 years we will be hearing about how chimpy was a good president for entering the "war on terra" despite the fact of considerable evidence for 9/11 LIHOP.

Of course, there's a big difference between FDR and Chimp. FDR was an economic populist. Chimp is in the pockets of corporations. Not to mention that FDR was about 10 times the man that Chimp is.

4. When parties move backwards they lose
Where are the new ideas for this century?

Where are the Dem politicians of greatness this century?

You can't go back, you must move forward.

5. I agree we need to move forward BUT
When the vestiges of the New Deal are under assault, and the Dems seem pleased to just roll over, then its time to resurrect a power house politician. Defend the turf we gained over the last 40 years.
