Especially the levy part.

2. Sweetie
We're living proof - right here - that democracy has not died.

And get that attitude out of your head right now. I mean, RIGHT NOW.

Don't make me come up there after you...................

3. Is it just me
or is the one on the left enjoying itself just a bit too much.

Oh yeah, baby. Hurt me, hurt me.

4. This is The End, beautiful friend. Of our elaborate plans, the end...
Well, things are not quite THAT bad, but still, this is the song that captured the feeling of 11/2 for me.

The End - The Doors
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

5. Try this
A long long time ago
I can still remember how
this nation used to make me smile
And I knew when we had our chance
that we could help the people dance
and maybe they’d be happy for a while

But this November made me shiver
with every e-vote they delivered
bad news on the doorstep
that happened while we all slept
I do remember that I cried
when I heard about his sickened bride
and it angered me deep inside
the day democracy died

So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

Did you read all the voting laws
and do all you could for this just cause
and volunteer to poll watch too
and did they just count on all the flaws
grabbing evidence in their grubby paws
leaving us the only choice to sue

Well I know they faked it all for him
as they tried to cast votes inside the gym
the machines failed to work
gave all the votes to the jerk
I saw them standing in the rain
waiting to end all our pain
I was a lonely mom from out of state
attempting to affect our fate
but I had too much on my plate
the day democracy died

I started cryin’
So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

Now for eight years we had a big surplus
and we knew it surely was a must
to keep fighting for the status quo
when the swift boats came out on the scene
we knew the fighting wasn’t clean
and the press was acting way too slow
and while the folks were looking ‘round
we put more soldiers in the ground
Cheney told the tale
ebay was having a sale
while the public read the book from O’Neil
the rest of us began to reel
this was how we came to feel
the day democracy died
we started screaming

So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

Helter skelter in Iraqi swelter
Bin Laden found a cave for safety shelter
and our troops were falling fast
but our leader just wasn’t concerned
the people voting still hadn’t learned
that their future was already in the past
now the Kerry campaign was full of hope
we thought for sure we could beat the dope
we all showed up to cheer
but they beat us down with fear
when we tried to tell them all the truth
they kept us from the camera booth
Zell Miller was just so uncouth
the day democracy died

we started fighting
So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

The problems weren’t all just in one place
our efforts weren’t all just a waste
there’s no time left to cry or wale
so come on Bev be nimble, Ida be quick
lets work to stick it to that prick
cause McCain might really be his only friend
And as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
just tell me what the hell
makes them think that he’s so swell
our prayers rang out through the night
and they didn’t all come from the right
we’ll fight him now with all our might
the day democracy died

we need a recount

So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

I saw some states were proudly blue
I knew that they all had a clue
of exactly what was at stake
we must now stand side by side
and we must never run and hide
we must make sure that we all stay awake
and in the street the people streamed
they couldn’t give up the things they dreamed
they weren’t about to pout
but the church bells drowned them out
and the people I admire most
mostly live somewhere on our coast
to them I now say a toast
the day democracy died

We need some protests

So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

So bye bye, it’s America’s Lie
drove my family to the polls but the
liars were sly
changed the votes to make his totals so high
leaving all of us asking why
how could our democracy die

So I'm printing it off. Shoot I'm in Nashville someone I know must be able to record it. I emailed him - next I'll beg him.

15. Actually, politics aside, Don MIGHT mind ...
I saw an interview where someone asked him what American Pie means.

His response: "It means I never have to work a day in my life again."

So he might mind copyright infringement. I would.
