Restore your faith in Dean. On CSPAN. Now.
www.cspan.org

Dean is doing great, in a town-hall style forum.

He sounds like an honest doctor explaining to a concerned patient what the options are in order to restore health.

This is the Dean I know.

These are the American people I know.

1. Thanks.
I never lost faith in Dean, just the American people.

3. Dean is trying to reinvent himself
We'll see if it works next week.

5. If you actually watched, you would know that this is the Dean we know.
This is the Dean I have seen in person several times.

I am heartened by his speech today, and by the incredible rapport he had with the voters at today's event.

I don't think he's trying to reinvent himself, though I would agree that this is a new direction for the campaign, and I think that is all to the good.

8. He is exceptional in the town hall meeting format
He should do more of these and less of the "standard" stump speech events.

10. Agreed. Now, for the campaign to GET THAT!
I still support Dean. But I am really miffed with the campaign at the moment.

This is his best feature, this is when he is most accessible, and shows his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to think on his feet.

I have no idea why the campaign doesn't run 1 minute commercial with excerpts from events like this, rather than wasting money on "robocaller" machines that irritate votors.

Ai!

4. Great quote..
When talking about Bush's view on the American worker.

"Bottom line efficiency is not enough to feed the soul of human beings."

6. Did see that.
I noticed he was much more pleasant, much more amiable. If he can continue to act like this, he may do well in NH.

7. It's probably too late for Dean to recover
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 07:37 PM by jsw_81
Kerry is already surging in New Hampshire, and they're going to play Dean's "speech" over and over and over.

ON EDIT: Holy cow, a reporter just asked Dean if he learned anything from his disastrous third-place finish in Iowa, and he said "not really."

9. As a Dean supporter, I never counted Kerry out.
It may be too much to ask for others to return the favor, but I don't think so.

I didn't like the speech either, but it is a moment in this long campaign.

Dean is well funded, and if he continues to perform as he did today, he will win hearts, and especially, minds.

11. Very nice news conference
Dean handled it very well.Of course Dean can handle them all well which has never been a problem for me. I did note the media trying to bait Dean and he knows they want give up because they are drones who march to corporate media's beat. I wonder what would happen if the obviously angry Kerry and using the f-word is replayed daily for a spell?

13. You'll see more of it, but you'll never forget the fire either.
The "other" Dean is what Gore was lacking.
