5. No, but they are on the record as saying that when the bombs
fall, the mullahs will give up because they will magically have no power. Interesting isn't it, this new version of hugs and flowers.

7. General Clark was asked this recently
and he basically said yes, don't think they can't or won't do it. He said it would partly depend on what happens in Iraq, but that the Air Force, for example, is not right now fully stretched the way the army is. And he said that since he is not seeing the "engaged diplomacy" required to prevent military force, they may be heading that way again and it's the "wrong course."

He strongly implied that there are things going on behind the scenes, regarding Iran and Syria, that are not out there for public scrutiny and debate. They're hiding the facts of the situation and the options that are available right now.

Obviously, this administration doesn't know what the hell it's doing when it comes to foreign policy; they just take the quick and dirty way out and deploy the military, imagining there's a military solution to things that really require political solutions. That's what they did in Iraq, and they obviously haven't learned.

9. Yep, he nailed that one
"But they just *couldn't*..." is wishful thinking that we can't afford. They can, and they just might.

8. I wish we would have a draft...
Think it would wake up all these flag waving idiots when little Jimmy and little Julie have to go half way around the world to defend the empire?

11. Sure, Air Force & Navy
...Can bomb from above & afar; Special Forces can shoot & scoot. *

It's when pissed-off Iranians sneak into Iraq to do stuff the current Iraqi insurgents are doing everyday - it could get ugly(er).
...And I gotta wonder when the other MidEast countries start helping the insurgents with more overt aid (newer weapons & "volunteer fighters")

* That was the point of paying over $400 billion a year into the defense budget - getting high-tech gadgets to do the fighting with fewer people in harms way. Clinton's use of the military in Kosovo is the best example.

"...prosecuting the most precise and lowest-collateral-damage air campaign in history-with no U.S. or allied combat casualties in 78 days of around-the-clock operations and over 38,000 combat sorties."

12. Yes.
Has anyone given thought to the fact that the Bush Admin needs a fresh cast of villains every so often? I think the military commanders would prefer fighting a uniformed army. Iran & Iraq hate each other. Could Bush put Iraqi Forces up against Iran? Would Iraqis unite with themselves and U.S. Troops to fight Iran?

13. In the literature I recieved from the draft board
after applying on-line they said that if needed they could have 100,000 inductees within thirty days of starting up operations of the draft.

14. Sure that's not the problem. We went to war with Afghanistan but
we didn't occupy it so no major problem. The shrub and his gang want the oil in EYE RACK so they have to occupy it. They can easily defeat the Iranian army with our high tech and shock and awe weapons but then what. They will want to occupier Iran but wont have the army to do so. The Brits were smart at the turn of the century they took trained turks and used them as troops in India and Indian troops in Pakistan. You take your imperial troops from one country and deploy them in a country they hate and you have an army which must work together to defeat their traditional enemies.
