Why did our party wait so long to open its' mouth? |
|
All of a sudden a couple senators falling all over each other to excoriate Rice? I'm very happy that they are, and I'm very grateful, especially to Barbara Boxer. But why now? Why not sooner? Why not during the election? If I put my tinfoil hat on I start to wonder.
Or is it just because it's easier to get the truth out in a setting like this, as opposed to a presidential campaign?

they finally realize they have hit bottom and have nothing left to lose. The fact that Daschel went down had to have a huge impression on the Senate Democrats. The fact that Kerry didn't win and bring in more House Members had to have a huge effect as well.

2. It's easier to attack a second term president |
|
Than it is a first term president. Also, the opportunity to do so is greater in a second term because of nominations and such. I also think they are setting the stage for 2006. If they repeat the meme over and over about the lies and such, and the repugs go along with those lies, more people are likely to vote for change. It's also a barometer for 2006, to see what platform people should run on.
Of course, this is not based on any hardnose facts, it's just my opinion.

Just wondering, not disputing, but why is it easier to attack a two-term President?

So you don't have to worry about him 4 years from now.

4. Why not any time in the last 25 years? Don't hold your breathe |

for them to continue. Kennedy came to the rescue a few times before the election, but that was all. I just wish the Dems did have a permanent backbone. They've pretty much done nothing to stop the repubs. Then they wonder why they're in the minority.

seems like they have been receiving much more positive feedback from their constituencies. Personally, I know that this is the first year that I have been tirelessly e-mailing my senators and representatives. Maybe we can really make a small difference...Peace!

to the grassroots, and the media is starting to show that it actually has a sense of shame for selling this war and the general bush agenda.
