CNN: "Resounding Success" FOX: "Democracy Wins"
Those phrases are pasted at the bottom of their screens.

I can't take this anymore, I'm turning my TV off.

2. 44 people died.
How about that headline? British C-130 plane crashed and is missing. There was almost no turnout among Sunnis. I guess it's easier to just ignore reality.

3. this election is a resounding success
I oppossed the war, but recognize that this election is good for the world.
Now, bring on the civil war (once the civil war is over, the USA can leave Iraq).

12. Civil war will not happen in Iraq because...
The majority is Shia and they will win Lion's share of
the elected positions. So why would they start a civil
war when they already have won? And the sunni's have no
power to fight against the majority population and the
shia government. I know if Iraq succeeds it helps the repugs
politically, but I for ever favor democracies over dictatorships
anywhere in the world. Now only if we can dump our "friendly"
dictators in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Kuwait, Arab
Emirates etc. then it is time to celebrate, but that won't
happen. We coddle all dictators who are friendly. Then freedom
and liberation and democracy goes out the window.

15. someone will oppose the Shiite rule
perhaps even a radical in the shiite community. How do you think Saddam became ruler?

This new Iraqi govt will need to survive and control Iraq. That ain't easy, even for the Shia.

4. Just make sure you don't turn them back on
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 04:07 PM by PDittie
The ONLY THING that will get their attention is if their numbers go down.

Not e-mail complaints, not "CNN sucks" threads, not 'DUing' their polls.

Find some other way to get your news.

14. See, The Problem Is
That unless you have a nielsens rating box on top of your tv, if you shut them off they still don't know you exist.

If we want to impact their ratings, we have to find and convince those that have ratings boxes to turn them off.

5. This might be interesting: it was blogged that CNN
was showing lines of happy voters from Kurdish areas, but were not identifying where these images were coming from. Obvious deception...

8. Oh the propganda, how many people actually believe the fake election?
I guess a lot, but how can we get them, MSM to tell the truth? This media age is worse than the Spanish American War and "remember the Maine." Thats what happens when corpo-fascists run riot.

I have never felt better informed. My news comes from international sources, the internet, etc.

16. I was watching MSNBC in the middle of the night. They were actually
the most concerned with what was going on and not just saying "Yay! It's a success!". FOX News & CNN only talked about how great the elections are and how everyone is turning out to vote everywhere across the country.
