Stop posting for one night and join us
We believe that people, when they organize , at a local level, can exercise political power. WE believe that power can be a base to make our influence felt at the State level, and on the National Scene.

We want an end to politics as usual, an end to a congress where members do not read the legislation written for them by corporate lobbyists. We want our elected representative to be responsive to our needs and our children's needs, not the needs of an industry or a corporate entity.

We want an America where each citizen is proud to express his views, and everyone works together to achieve a common good.

We want a fair taxation system where each person pays an equal proportionate share of his or her burden.

We want a country where our founding principles are an example for citizens to aspire to everywhere, and where other countries when they hear the term "America" think of a place and group of people that stand for human justice and fair treatment for all.

WE want a country where our priorities are our citizens and their education and welfare, ahead of what is profitable for a select few.

We want the country they taught us about in school , because know what? WE bought into that.

We want our country BACK from all that is evil that has seized it.

Howard Dean is our inspiration, but not our organization. That is each and every one of us.

How is this a problem for anyone who purports to be a Democrat?
Look up the Meetup near you and join us Wednesday night at 7 pm. Help us take our country back.

You will become a part of your home community, the important part of activist grass roots. Then you can get back to the DU flame wars about how Dean is usch a dirtbag, or whatever it is they enjoy posting these days.

5. I will, Capn
7 pm, Wed., Feb 2, at a coffee shop only four blocks away.

Our last one was great. Candidates and candidate reps trying to gain our support for local elections among other things.

I saw only a few familiar faces from the Dean meetup days. Everyone else was new - Kerry and DK supporters attending for the first time.

27. You may want to come to an MPC meeting, too!
The Minnesota Progressive Caucus meets every other tuesday at the CWA union hall on Lake St. in S. Minneapolis. We just elected our new vice-chair and advisory committee last night. And, we'll (hopefully) be getting our charter from the DFL this Saturday-- so we'll be an official DFL "club", like the Stonewall DFL and the DFL Feminists Caucus.

19. In all seriousness
I often think the same thing of many anti-Dean posts.
Funny thing about believing in your cause , and having enthusiasm about the same:

you do stuff for free because you hope to change your party and take your country back.

Partisan Hacks have a hard time with this concept.

26. This is true
democrats have Meetups also. Everyone at DU should be meeting regularly as well.

The Meetup structure allows you to search by zip code and you can start one ifthere isn't one in your area.

It's not just for DFA you know.
