US Media created Bush-then manufactured consent for his banana republic |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:19 AM by Q
Bush is nothing more than a PRODUCT that was manufactured, marketed and merchandized by wealthy right wing ideologues through their US Corporate Media holdings. These Media Moguls paid millions to Madison Avenue public relations experts and Right Wing Talking Head Pundits to market Bush like a shiny new car or a box of detergent.
While teams of media experts were busy selling Bush as a remedy for fear and doubt...others were assigned and well-paid to do the dirty work of making sure the other 'name brands' like Gore and Kerry were made to look like inferior products. Their job was to convince America that only a fool would buy these Liberal Brands.
With the successful selling of Product George...the Corporate Media set up shop in the White House and used the same marketing strategy to promote his policies and initiatives. Nothing was over the top or out of bounds now that Product George was the only brand on the shelf.
It doesn't seem to bother their conscience that they've sold out America, Democracy and the US Constitution. The moral to the story? This is what happens when power and winning by any means necessary becomes more important that truth, honor and integrity.

3. Also - News became a product |
|
It became part of the entertainment industry. Sadly, I don't think this is what Pat Weaver had in mind, or what Ted Turner had in mind when they created the morning show format and cable news.

4. Shrub himself admitted he was a media creation, hadn't earned status |
|
I remember that Bush at one time (perhaps right before or after becoming governor of Texas) acknowledged that his celebrity was a result of attention by the media that built up his image since he had not accomplished anything important enough in his life or career to warrant being put on such a pedestal so early in his political career.
Bush represents mediocrity, incompetence, bad judgment and a lack of positive accomplishments. I am stunned by the extent that his political machine in collusion with the media have constantly covered up and made excuses for his failures while deliberately and mercilessly trashing and denigrating everyone who has seriously opposed him.
His military records were scrubbed, White House records are constantly whitewashed and scrubbed to put him in the best possible light and I am sure that there is a major effort underway so that he will be 'remembered' as a great leader in posterity, with everything negative wiped off the record or twisted around to make him look good.
I am afraid of the effect of his economic and environmental policies on America but what worries me the most is that his disastrous policies will trigger the use of nuclear weapons or other global disasters.

5. Bush knew he was being used by corporations and their media... |
|
...to establish a CEO to replace the traditional presidency. He knew it and planned to have it benefit himself and the Republican party.
But what they needed was a MEDIA EVENT...a sensational, spectacular event that would give the corporate media an opportunity to steer the reporting away from what was happening in the White House. The Lies. Corruption. Fraud.
Enter 9-11.

6. That's why in essense, the media is even more dangerous than Bushco! |
|
They report and they decide. It was so evident during the the run-up to the Iraq War, the Democratic Presidential Primaries and the general election until it was blatant. The media rumor mongers, practices reporting of personal destruction and agrandizes those they choose to. They are very adept at this game of political manipulation of its viewers, readers and the general voting public.
The media reports on itself as though it is a viable undisputed source. The go round will start by a blurp published in the New York Post, followed by a piece in the Wall Street Journal. Fox News (or some other electronic media presstitute)will pick up the story and attribute it to one of those two papers, if not both.....have a journalist on to discuss the smear, inuendo, gossip or whatever they are pushing at the time. From there, the "product story line" will be reported about in Newsweek or Time magazine and find it's way over to MSnbc or CNN, and from there find it's way to the New York Time and/or WAPO. Shortly thereafer, the topic will find itself being reported about on the Network News. Once a complete run of those named above has occurred, it becomes solidified as a fact.....and there is not stopping it from there. the final "coup the gras" is when the story reaches AP for dessimination--at that point, denial of the story (even if false) would be like stopping the Tsunami with an umbrella.
For absolute effect, chosen polster will herald a poll that agrees with the concensus that was media manipulated....for good measure.
Scary folks....very scary.
They have the power, and they know it.
