And I know they are "supposed" to act all professional or whatever, but what the hell's up with Dems standing and clapping?
Even when he SAYS good things, he doesn't DO them. In fact, you can bet he's going to do or has already done the OPPOSITE. It's a pack of lies.
So why stand up and applaud it?
Am I missing something? Now tell me how the Dems "have to" or something.

1. I swear Lieberman is gonna wrench his back jumping up to applaud |
|
He's the first one up, every single time.

2. Well, Lieberman, yeah, I expect that. |
|
But the rest of them? Why?
I mean clapping, fine. But STANDING after almost every sentence and clapping? Are they just making Monkey Boy make the smirkey "hey I just told a good joke" face? Or the "hey I just farted" face?

3. If done right, it looks like sarcasm |
|
During reagan's years, the dems had it down to an artform--jump into the middle of a sentence with applause when your value was mentioned, and it becomes obvious that the speaker is going the other way.

6. Well I DID see some REALLY lackluster clapping just now. |
|
Clinton looked like she'd rather have hot piano wire run through her eyes and some other guy I forget the name of (I know he's a Dem) looked like he was about to puke.
So then why stand, though? That part I still don't get. Unless he says something good about the troops, which he just did, I wouldn't. Seriously. I don't care what the fuck people say about pressure. There's PRINCIPLES to consider and I don't stand and applaud a fucking lying warmonger.

8. I just remember the picture of Edwards stern-faced |
|
Two years ago,, 43 was talking about tort reform, and when the Rs were applauding, the camera went to Edwards, who had his jaw locked and his arms crossed. So the answer is they don't "have to" applaud.
