CHERIE Blair's speaking tour of Australia next month is to raise money for charity.

But figures published in Britain suggest that charity begins at home for the wife of the Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Documents released in London show she will receive a fee of $243,000 for the trip.

They show this would be about the same as that earmarked from the tour proceeds for the Children's Cancer Institute.

Embarrassed organisers are insisting that because of good ticket sales, the charity's share will now be about $500,000.
