Limbaugh, racism and the Super Bowl.
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 05:10 PM by Cyrano
For the most part, I couldn't give a rat's ass about football. However, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb, is the guy that Rush Limbaugh spit on during the week or two that he spent as a commentator for ESPN, before they fired his worthless ass.

If you don't remember, Limbaugh said something to the effect that McNabb was overrated by the sports media only because he was black.

So let me get this straight. All the teams that were in contention just rolled over for the Eagles because Donovan McNabb is black?

This Sunday, I will force myself to watch the Super Bowl and root for Philadelphia, just to make Limbaugh look like an even bigger asshole than he has already proven himself to be.

Then again, the fact that the Eagles are in the Super Bowl has probably already made that point.

1. What is amazing is that the rest of the NFL was complicit in
making Donovan McNabb look good just because he is black. You would have thought that the rest of the teams would have tried their hardest against him.

2. You could also root for the Pats
When they won in 2002, rush called them socialists for not singling out players and treating the team players as equals.

Race? Equality? How could I have been stupid enough to let Limbaugh put me in this bind? They really know how to shove moral values down our throats, don't they?

3. Not wishing anybody harm here, but wouldn't it be great
if Brady got injured and they put in his back up and then played the greatest Superbowl game ever, just so we could watch limbaugh swallow his frickin' leg whole.

6. Limbaugh
proved that his knowledge of sports was miniscule. Mcnabb is basically a middle linebacker playing QB. He is a terrific QB. It is a tough call because the Pats are a really good team to watch and any sports fan loves a team that is so unselfish. I was very proud of Tom Jackson and his stand and I used to play Basketball with Tom. He is a really nice guy and a helluva basketball player.

7. Go Eagles!
I'm rooting for the Eagles, since they haven't been to a Super Bowl in 26 years. However, I'm not stupid enough to bet money against the Pats!

8. Making it to the super bowl already made the point. However, it would
be nice to have the Eagles win to drive the nail in deeper. One thing that McNabb is quick to do is to give his front line the credit for his success, and he is right. But he is one hellava QB in his own right.
But I think that Doug Williams has already proved that with or without Rush'b blessings, black QBs can hold their own. Sometimes they have to put up with stupid play calling by their coaches.

9. It was especially fun to watch Atlanta roll over for the Eagles
just because McNabb is black, seeing as how Michael Vick is also black. </sarcasm>
