The Repubs have chosen their weapon for the 2006 election.. |
|
The Democrats should be happy with their choice. It is the Social Security reform plan of George W Bush. The sooner we can get the Repubs on record as supporting "Bush's Folly", the sooner we can prepare to take back the House in 2006. We should welcome this challenge. This is our issue in the next election...if we're smart enough to use it...

1. It seems to be a WH thing. |

There is a lot of fear on the part of individuals. They'll only jump in if it looks like a gang-bang. They support the Chimp, but he won't forward a plan.

We've already seen many republicans up for reelection in 2006 stating that they are wary of the social security proposal. If they aren't convinced to change their minds it may not be the main issue come 2006.

Democrats won't 'take back the house' unless those machines are destroyed.

I do also hope that they marry themselves to this Social Security privatization scam.

9. Who cares about the boring details of SS reform...Yawn....Gay marriage! |
|
Thats the real issue. 11 states voted it down in 2004; they should be able to get it on the ballot in another dozen crucial states by 2006.
Who gives a shit about social security? Do fundamentalists come out by the millions to vote on SS reform? No way, could care less. Gay marriage, though, threatens the very foundations of Western Civilization and "Life As We Know It".
The Republicans will manipulate 2006 just like they manipulated 2004 and 2002 before that.
