How much more time of the pigs feeding at the trough do we have to endure?
Seriously, how much longer? I cannot bear it anymore. The present feeding frenzy on the slim assets of this country are sickening! How in the hell are they getting away with it? It makes no sense. There is no rhyme or reason to it. What is going to happen if and when it is over? It is gluttony. We are eating ourselves and nobody is stopping it or really trying to.

I feel like a fool. What am I missing that at least half of the country gets? How can the Prescription Plan start out at 400B and now be over 700B? Where is the outrage of the masses? How can a budget be presented leaving out Iraq and other major expenditures? Why aren't people screaming at the top of their lungs?

Let's destroy Social Security! No problem, nobody is really saying anything about that either. Let's cut away at Food Stamp Recipients. I mean it is so over the top that I give up, I honestly give up, if these things aren't being dealt with now, then nothing is going to make people wake up and start marching in the streets.

I don't understand how this administration is existing. This country is really fucked. If these things can go on impeded, than why even bother to engage and care? My husband said that it didn't really matter about voting, he was right. My husband said that Bush would win ( he never liked Bush either ) he was right. I don't even want to ask my husband where this country will be in 4 years. I used to think that caring and fighting for your country counted for something. I used to think that honesty had SOME place in our society. I used to think that we could make a difference. I don't really believe that anymore. When I saw my candidate just roll over and quietly back out of the election because it appeared that he lost, I was sick and disheartened. I kept hoping that SOMEONE SOMEWHERE would stand up and say that this election was stolen and that a full investigation was needed. Nobody that really counted did that. They all just stood by and were silent.

How many of us poured our hearts and souls (and some of us money) into a campaign (cause) that was AGAIN stolen? How many of us were and are enraged that the President lied to put us into a war and was re elected after the lies were exposed? How many of us have seen the President lie - I mean out and out LIE - yet nothing is done? How could this be? How could the people that we supported NOT be screaming at the top of their lungs? If it is pointless for them to do so on all of the things that Bush has handed us, then how did Clinton get IMPEACHED because he lied about a blow job? How does any of this make any sense and how can we support a Government that has let this happen? I feel right now that engaging in politics is being PART of the problem. Everybody is complicit. Nobody has really stood for anything honorable for a long time. We work our hearts and souls out for crooks. We are being taken as fools.

I'm sorry if I am ranting, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to care about anything in our Government since nothing has been right for over a dozen years. (Clinton was getting hounded by the media and the right wing conspiracy when he was elected)

Does anybody have any good reason to care at this point? There are a few voices, but no momentum. A few crumbs thrown our way at best.

1. When the missery index gets high enough
you will see riots, and it is quietly reaching that point

Nations do not have civil unrest or civil wars and revolutions just out of nowhere. It takes a while to get there.

Just think of this, the firing on Ft Sumter did not come out of thin air... and in fact it had a history going back to the 1820s according to some, others the 1840s, but it was clear that something was amiss after the 1850 Compromise.

Things have NOT been normal since 1996, deffinitely since 1998... and we are dealign wiht a Revolutionary Radical Movement... but as usual they will press, and continue to press... this seeming apathy from the masses is just teh begining.

Start paying attention to conversations and look for signs that people are starting to get radicalized and I mean the regular peopel who NEVER pay attention. We are the leading edge... but I am startign to see signs of radicalization.

2. I hope to God you are right!
I am so disheartened right now that I cannot stand it.

The last week or so it seems like the pigs at the trough are really going crazy - acting like it is a free for all. I honestly cannot stand it anymore.

He is a republican becuse his father was a republican, we were talking about social security, and how it is being privatized... this is a republican who listened to the pig man for years... now I am sending him Krugman since he does not want to register at the NYT, his libertarian strain... and he did not object to me calling bush a fascist...

He actually asked why is it that our leadership is not speaking truth to power... I explained to him how politicos in this situations react... I also brought out Neo Cons an Good ol' Leo Strauss...

This is a Republican who does not consider bush a Conservative, and is now asking questions.

He is getting radicalized ever so slowly.

Oh and he will be listening to Air America now... he asked about their programing... and I mentioned Rhodes and how she does not pass on her knowledge but tells you here is the material, damn it read it!

4. You Are So Right About The Misery Index.
How about all of the *crowd control* devices they are constantly coming up with? Those are for use here in our country. The corruption is so great now that there is not turning back imo.I agree that it is so sickening and frustrating to see all of this happening. But it has been coming on for a long time. The gov. has been hijacked and we are practically on our knees.I am glad I am old as it is painful having to face the realities of this. I feel very sad for my grandchildren. But as long as I am here, I will not give up.

5. the best riot control devices are useless when
a) the police refuse to obey orders

b) the crowed overwhelm riot control officers....

Either of these two scenarios could work... and as to a long time, this radical revolutionary movement has been working on this for 30 years... but if they push hard enough (and they are) sooner or later the people will rise....

We just need a leader or two... and even those are starting to emerge... and the population is getting radicalized

7. The US is being voluntarily IMF'd.
Intentional destruction of the economy is the only thing that makes sense to me at this point. MIHOP.
