6. Now THAT should be embarrassing!
She supports the policies that promote conditions that create gangs and gang violence.

Give me patience!

8. It's the Reptilian scheme to appeal to black voters.
BTW, it wasn't talked about much but Laura Bush had this ex-gang member sitting next to her at the SOTU. This X-Gang banger was involved in the murder of 2 teen aged boys (11 and 13 I think) anyway, the mother of the victim said it was very painful to see. Evidently this gang member was a teen when the murders took place and he was treated lightly and got out of jail early. The White House said they knew about it but didn't realize it would be a problem for the victims family.. (from what I remember)

I thought it was totally inappropriate

20. Yep....Here's some info from a blogger
Honoring a killer

A killer was invited to sit just steps away from First Lady Laura Bush during the State of the Union speech last night.

Willie Dunn, who did time for his involvement in the Roxbury slaying of 15 year-old Korey Grant and 11 year-old Charlie Copney, Jr back in '91, sat to the right of an one row behind Mrs Bush at the invitation of the White House. He was there to serve as an example of someone who turned his life around from a life of gang violence.

<snip>

The front page story in the Boston Herald this morning should make your head spin. Herald columnist Peter Gelzinis looked into the story behind this story and found a grieving mother whose forgiveness for killing her son has never been sought by this supposed hero being recognized by the Bush administration. Gelzinis spoke last night with Patricia Copney after local activist Rev Eugene Rivers informed her in writing that Willie was going to visit the White House and be present at the address.
Rivers' 10 Point Coalition and Ella J Baker House are deservedly two of the White House's favorite faith-based organizations that better lives in ways government cannot. In an interview on our show this morning, Rivers told us that the White House asked him to recommend someone to send to the State of the Union address. After conferring with his staff, he told us he recommended that the White House invite Dunn to the State of the Union address, which he admitted this morning was a mistake.

<snip>
Rivers admitted on the show that it was a mistake to send Dunn when he had not yet apologized for his crime to the mother of one of his victims and made amends with her. Rivers promised to correct the problem, and we agreed to have him back on to follow up.

21. Holy Sh*t. Being from the Boston area, I remember this story
I don't read the Herald, but the Globe should be ashamed it didn't have the story. How does this work? Bush would have electrocuted him and now he sits with his wife?

22. um....that's nice
Thanks Laura...our viewers have been incessantly asking us via email this particular question...I was hoping you could answer it for us.

"You state you are against gang violence and have been so distraught about it, that you are appearing on the media to speak out against it...why do you not show the same commitment to making your husband, who publicly professes the Ten Commandment, follow the 6th Commandment's prohibition on killing, here in the United States, in Guantanamo, and in the rest of the world...care to comment?...and oh...and another viewer asks..if you are against killing boyfriends with cars?"

:evilgrin:
