LOL! New CNN/Gallup poll has Bush approval at 49 percent
This is less than a week after they had him at 57 percent. Did Bush plummet 8 points in such a short period? Of course not. Their first poll was full of shit.

2. AP has him at 45, Rasmussen at 48
He's plummeted in all the polls. His lift from the Iraqi elections was only temporary. The public sees elections haven't stopped the war or made him any better of a president.

9. one immediately followed the other
so it's impossible to differentiate. My guess is that most of it was from the Iraqi elections.

10. I find it funny that his bump from the Iraqi "elections"
is gone before the official results are even in. Suck it Bush.

4. 8 down, 10 to go.....
At the end of Nixon's presidency, his approval rating was 39%. I give * two weeks to get there (unless Rove unleashes a trick or two).

7. Wonder if they have corrected the
skew toward Repukes in the polling or if it is really even lower than that. We have a very unpopular president!

12. helps chances for gaining seats in 2006
and it gives Democrats more leverage to oppose Bush proposals like Social Security privatization. It won't get rid of Bush, but it helps in other ways.

19. I disagree
Overall opinion polls do nothing to help win seats in Congress. His approval rating was at or below 50 percent this cycle and the GOP gained in both the house and senate. Perhaps it will help sway public opinion on Social Security as citizens contact their legislators, but we have to offer some type of alternative as well.

21. Bush was 52 on election day
according to Rasmussen. The polls don't correlate exactly to votes, particularly when they survey the general public, many of whom don't vote. They do, however, signal general changes in public opinion. It's much more difficult to oppose legislation proposed by a popular president than an unpopular one. If Bush is around or below 40 by Nov of 2006, it will help the Democrats. It would signal growing discontent over Republican rule. Differences between 49 and 51% don't mean a whole lot, but there is a big difference between say 57 to 40%.

11. What's up with all these polls?
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 08:42 PM by FreedomAngel82
I've never seen so many in such a short enough time. It seems like they're trying desperately to get his ratings up or something but failing. Which is funny.

14. Judy Woodruff actually said he's "holding steady at 49%" when he had
been at 57% a week ago....How she could call the drop holding steady is pathetic!

16. What was the methodology this time?
Does this still include 9% too many republicans? Without knowing that, this poll is worthless as well.
