I Just Heard That Old Fossil Judy Woodruff Say She Get's Frist's E-mail
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 06:41 PM by Dinger
newsletter on Inside Politics. Her and Kurtzie were both masturbating to the idea of the cat killer running for prez in '08

Made me sick. I had it taped, so I just fast forwarded through most of it.

of CNN and get some of these whores fired.

9. I hope you're joking! cnn-CoverupNetworkNews is
is a bigger menace to America than faux..at least with faux..we know they are an extension of the chimphouse. The fascists complain cnn is "liberal news" as to obfuscate the misleading coverup..they do on bush.

15. I see CNN et al of trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Americans the people did re-elect the thugs. CNN didn't elect them!

And because they are targeted they have to be extra careful to not misstep or break any of their own rules. With monsters like you have in the WH, it is one set of rules for them, and one set of rules for the journalists. Rathergate was an example of producers who let their feelings on Bush get the most of them... at it cost them their jobs.

It is very easy for John Stewart who is a comedian and in the entertainment industry to waltz up to the people at Crossfire and tell them that they are not really blowing the lid off of anything. Of course the crossfire people are not blowing the lid off of Washington ... they are all insiders. They are not even journalists. So they have lives and careers they want to keep.

I think the same thing is true of journalists. It is very easy for us - who have nothing to loose to have opinions and express them. It is something quite different to be a journalist in these times ... before history has been written and propaganda prosecuted (are the attorney's not doing their jobs too?).

Judy Woodriffe - I don't know what her politics are or how big her staff if. She does not impress me. But there are allot of good eggs on CNN. And that is why we all watch it. And that is what she may have meant today: that we are capable of hypocrisy too.

Flushing out the "New Rules" is always fun eh? We don't have the choice but to get some information from MSM. So how can we accuse them of not doing a job when we need them?

41. CNN USED to be a good news outlet....
but has deteriorated to a point where it is trying to race Faux to the bottom. They no longer provide news, they provide infotainment. The OJ saga was the beginning of the end of their credibility, imo, and the purchase of CNN by Time/Warner accelerated the slide downward.

I was an avid CNN watcher and could see how it was deteriorating over the last 5 years. It, in no way, resembles the news outlet it was when it was started and it's ratings show that many others see that as well.

I'm not going to start eating the things I rely on. I don't watch CNN every day but when I do - I get lots of good information. It isn't perfect, it isn't like it used to be, but it isn't faux news. And that is all I ask these days... all that I can ask.

30. Last week CNN did a story
on Social security and the budget with the banner on the bottom throughout the entire story: "Assault on the Middle Class"

I think they do try to tell the truth but I agree that they must tread carefully with this bunch. They are ruthless and would set up CNN in a second.

37. I am not ignorant. There are ways I can follow this story that you
cannot. If the whole media thing was the big issue to me I should go to media matters. But to me it is only a side effect of the real issue. We need to pick our battles. And I say CNN is not the one I would pick. I rely on them and I like them.

40. The way I look at it the American public somehow voted in
a hairy uglyfruit into office. And CNN is saying: well voting for a hairy uglyfruit is the last thing we would have expected, but the people spoke and they elected a lying uglyfruit ... so that is what the Democracy wants and that is what it will get. And it will smell. And perhaps the world will fall apart. But we are journalists and we have to accept the American Republic wanted to be lead by a hairy uglyfruit and go from there.

Of course I may just be awash in wishful thinking ....I've said this before ... you don't know with the types of people we know are in the White House. CNN reporters could be getting beaten up in dark allies all the time. That may be the reason for all the silence.

Or perhaps they realize that speculation without hard facts will just be their end and the WH has successfully cow-towed them by threatening each and every one of them with career ending. And for anyone who spent 30 years eating dirt to make it as a journalist... they would plug their noses and roll their eyes at the hairy uglyfruits in the WH - rather than give it up. Don't you notice that the retired reporters and politicians are a little more... open?

With Fox you know what you're getting. CNN is far more covert in their asskissing and were one of the biggest cheerleaders going into Iraq.

Judy used to be quite good. I don't know what happened but suppose that when Ted Turner was bought out, she went off the deep end. I haven't willingly watched CNN since November, 2004 and have no plans to change.

8. I bet '08 will be either Frist v Edwards or McCain v Clark or Kerry.
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 06:50 PM by AP
It's like the way all the shoe stores are on the same block -- they want to be where everyone is going to buy shoes.

If in '08 it looks like people are going to care more about what's going wrong in their own lives than what's going on on the other side of the globe, I think Republicans will run Frist in the belief that he says something about how people live their lives -- they'll sell him as the good doctor who makes house calls and only cares about your personal welfare, because he's taken an oath...

That same mood will produce Edwards as the democratic nominee, and then we'll spend a lot of time talking about medical malpractice.

If people are freaked out by terror and war, the Dems will produce Kerry or Clark and the Republicans will run someone like McCain or Ridge.
