If I were in Congress, I would introduce a bill.... |

to stop the spending of taxpayer monies in any department on any type of PR or promotion of any issue. The Clinton Administration was guilty of spending taxpayer money on their pet issues - thru the Commerce Dept, Transportation Dept, or whatever - but the Bush Adminsitration has taken it to extremes. They are spending record amounts of taxpayer monies on issues like the recent Medicare Bill that was passed by Congress, the No Child Left Behind legislation, and now, the so-called Social Security reform. They are passing taxpayer money to their contributors like Ketchum Communications and Omnicom Group and all their subsidiaries around the world, in attempts to convince people, by pure propaganda, what otherwise do not have the merits to stand scrutiny on their own. This should be stopped immediately.

now...to find a sympathetic Democrat in Congress for sponsorship. I'm SOL Senator-wise...and so are you! (McConnell or Bunning? Please!) The KY 2nd Rep is no better...Ron Lewis, former fundie preacher. :eyes: This doesn't prevent us from putting a bug in, say, Barbara Boxer's ear, however. Even if this bill doesn't stand the proverbial snowball's chance in hell, it could provide a platform for demonstrating 'pug hypocrisy.
